| | Hi friends, I just finished creating a megapack of textures and tried uploading it, but the submission system won't allow more than 10 mb at one go. Even if I break the upload into parts, I'll have to fill in the same information every time, and upload the pack image and thumbnail image of the same pack every time, considering that the system won't allow me to upload unless all asterisk marked fields are filled. My zip file size is more than 40 MB. Can anybody offer any suggestion? I tried phoning RA from India, which is pretty costly at indian tariffs, but only find an answering machine, which I abhorr. Can anybody provide some guidance? Regards Surajit

| | Hi Surajit, You can upload the pack in parts as long as each part is clearly marked as is the rest of the information on the form. I know it is a bit of a pain to fill in the form several times but the rules for the submission form are pretty strict on sizes and it won't be accepted if not conformed to. Alternatively you can send Zack an email and explian your problem. He may be able to offer an alternative method of uploading your content. Contact him using the address below. developer@reallusion.com Just as a matter of interest, are the textures in JPG format? If they are then it really must be a bumper bundle of textures you have put together.

| | Hi Pete, Thanks for the response. I had already mailed developer@reallusion.com. I am waiting for the response, which I guess can get delayed by the weekend. I'll also divide the stuff into parts and see if it works. My question is, if everything except the zip file is identical in the forms submitted repeatedly, including pack name etc., won't something get goofed up? Anyways, I'll make the try and find out. I'll also keep on posting my experience here. I thought posting this problem was important, in case other newcomers find similar problems in the future. They can have this thread for reference. Yes, everything is in jpg format, with a revolutionary approach to texture packs. For me, Re-gular Evolution means Re-volution. Regards Surajit

| | Mr. Peter Edwards. Why can't they have a Different form (Submissions)Over 10 Mb.(Part1 & Part 2)That you can send in.It would make it Easy-Better-and stop the the Hassle,Im' sure theres a Limit. Why not a different Form,Say Limit it to 20 mb..part1-Part-2.Just a Thought....But then again it might make more work for Stressed people at IClone (" Just Kidding" )... |

| OR, why not send the first package and include a link to your free sendspace account that lets you keep a 300 meg file uploaded with a link for public downloads. Just put the information in the form and link to the rest of your package ? each link is unique so its not like someone can randomly guess 7n4Fcnz2231 to take your stuff , so it's rather secure.
eventually I know I will have to deal with this also, but that is how I plan to handle it. 1 form, 1 preview file and one link to the main file. www.sendspace.com.

| | I've had the upload problem many times. Reallusion told me to upload all the promo pics as normal but instead of my texture zip file, upload an empty zip file called DUMMY.zip Then send a link directly to tamin@reallusion.com.tw with a link to the actual content. This could be hosted on one of the many hosting sites available. I have also been told that the upload limit will be increased soon. Hope this helps.......btw, I think Tamin is a He Shy

| | Thank you friends, for all the supportive information and ideas and I'll definitely use each of them with modificitations, except the case of Tamin who may not be amenable to modification, bump or displacement. Thank you Shygirl for sharing necessary information. It will help all newcomers. And when I looked at your products I thought no more texture artists were needed at Reallusion. You seem to have covered every corner professionally and methodically. Bravo. I know when you see my pack, you'll love my textures for they are handpainted and orginally created. Your work is pretty good. And thanks BigBoss. Your comment has set me to thinking, and yes in dealing with megapacks new formulas and strategies are required for while a mega pack might be bought by a consumer, nobody would like a huge download size. So I am working on that right now taking into account planetstardragon's suggestion. I'll upload to RA, following Shygirl's instructions after I handle the download strategy. Owen's questions are mine too. Regards all Surajit PS I am still to receive any response from Reallusion, and it has been more than 24 hours, but this forum not only solved my problem but put me in the right direction regarding my product in a jiffy. It feels great to be part of this community.
