| | Dear all, This is my first post, I hope anyone can give some hints. In Iclone, I created the avatar, but the clonecloth can't give my dream cloth. How can I export the avatar to 3DS MAX completely. After I modified (created) the new cloth and RE-import to iclone? Thanks! Thanks! and Thanks! |

| Hello,
Welcome. Sorry to say, "You can't export ANYTHING from iClone to 3ds Max!!!!!!!"
You can ONLY export from 3ds Max to iClone!
I'd really be nice to export to Max! But... Nope!
If Reallusion allowed EXPORTING to 3ds Max...
* The Content Store would be flooded with Content!
* Supply and Demand will go out the window!
* Prices would be Forced to Drop!
It all sounds good, but the "Name of the Game" is "Reallusion Content Store!"
For the Newcomers...
Think I'm kidding? Follow any of the ADVANCED tutorials Step by Step.
Your end result Will Not be the same. Why!
It's the LITTLE things they leave out.
The advanced tutorials will walk you through and when you get to the "Nitty Gritty"...
The part that makes it ALL COME TOGETHER... OOops! No More Information!
Your expected to Know the Rest!
iClone and Crazy Talk are absolutely wonderful!
For the Newbie: Basic steps are simple.
Advanced steps are nearly Impossible.
WHY? Purchase from the Content Store, Period!
I'm writing this so the Next fellow newcomer don't have the Misconception of End Results!
This comment is directed to the Newbie with No prior experience!
Meaning: Don't Ever Think, that by purchasing iClone or Crazy talk, you will be walked through the ADVANCED TUTORIALS STEP BY STEP COMPLETELY!
NEVER GONNA HAPPEN!
With No Prior Experience... To produce Advanced Content and GET RESULTS...
You Must ask SHYGIRL, or POPEYE for help! THEY don't run you around in circles, simply show you how to do it!!!!!!!
The Advanced tutorials and MANY others advice, will leave you frustrated and confused!
I believe the reason for "Lack of Information" is:
* Many don't want you to produce content... So their content will sell.
Imagine:
You produce some awesome content...
People would buy your content and not theirs.
* After Joining The Developer Group and becoming a member... SEE FOR YOURSELF!
So The Big Secrets Remain!
BUSINESS IS BUSINESS!
Kind Regards,

| | Just curious I'm not a programmer or anything but how hard would it be to reverse engineer a plug in to work backwards |

| I don't have a clue to what you're talking about. I'm just a average guy trying to produce a 3d movie!

| | I hope to be able to help with some explanation / assistance... To write a reverse plug in is quite tricky: 1: You must have all the small bits how a .vns is lade out ( ALL OF IT ) 2: If you are going to 3DS MAX you have to know that software intimately 3: If you go to .obj with the mesh then you need 3DS MAX + plug in to put it back into iClone These steps don't look advanced at all, but it is by far more advanced than it looks, iCLone and 3DS MAX have completely different way of looking at some things like pivot points and so forth. A pivot point is the 3D point in space where a mesh part is hinged. If you ask specific I will try to answer, to give general explanations generally complicates things even more! Best regards Gorz
