| I would like to share with the community a little technique that I use to create my animated textures for iClone.
This requires a software to make screenshots at even timeintervals from a movie for creating previews, and thumbnails.
Each of us has already seen this kind of images:

I know three good softwares to obtain similar results:
- the first one ScreenGrabber 2.0, it is free but only runs on mac
-Video Thumbnails Maker is free and runs on windows
-the third one is Video Snapshots Genius, it is commercial but runs on Windows ...
If someone has found another free software with such features, it would be nice to announce it here.
In the meantime, we will use the trial version of [url=http://www.lonking.com/video-snapshots/index.html]Video Snapshots Genius[/url in our example.
After you download and install Video Snapshots Genius on your computer, Open video files and choose video file from your hard disk.
You can take snapshots automatically or manually. For automatic way, Click Automatically Capture tab on the left window and set up capture method and Click Capture button on the Toolbar.

Now you are ready to make thumbnail galleries. Click Thumbnail button on the Toolbar. The Make thumbnail window appears. Set up parameters for thumbnail on the left side.
Please use the following settings:
- Space between thumbnails(px):0
- Uncheck the video information to created picture checkbox in Addons tab
- Uncheck I want to add timestamp to snapshots checkbox in Addons tab

Click Save button and save the created thumbnail which is your animated texture.
Now, your animated texture is created, you just need to create the configuration file in .ini format to load properly your new texture.

| | I praise GIF Movie Gear so loudly and so often that one could suspect me of profiting from it. However, I am just really pleased with this application. It will generate grids suitable for animated textures--in fact, I have been using it frequently over the past few days. It supports AVI input and output. |

| | Yes, it creates a grid--Gear calls it a filmstrip. |
