Hey all,

My old web comic book is launching a new volume today at http://www.reallycoolsite.org/mediaelite

We publish three times a week (Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday) and when we're done you end up with a 32 page comic book. This is a total relaunch of our universe so it's a good jumping on point for new readers.

All of the art was produced with Iclone 3 and this time around I've decide to go exclusively with the G3 bodies for the female characters using Apparation's Skirt Magic, Cloth-4-G3 and their other clothing meshes (I'm also using the Superhero meshes for one of the main male characters).

Future issues will feature sets designed with Nature Builder, Nature Builder Gardening, City Blocks and Downtown Elements. So if you ever wanted to know if those add-ins were worth a purchase, hey, check out our future issues, I've probably bought them and used them in some fashion in the comic.

In the end, if a guy like me (still learning the software) can produce something that looks good in the software -- think all the great things YOU can do!

Best,

Jim Finch

Great work Jim. It's great to see iClone being used for comic strips like this. It is a perfect tool for the job as you have proved. Very professionally done. Congratulations.

Thank you Peter.

I've been in contact with a major comic book website in the past couple of weeks about doing a piece on my comic. If it pans out, hopefully it'll get some attention to iclone since it's so easy to produce stills with it. All you need is is the time and patience to do it.

The issue is now complete at http://www.reallycoolsite.org/mediaelite/volume2/2-1.html if you want to check out the whole comic. We run 1 comic a week and publish in 3 parts. So every issue we'll be complete sometime on Thursdays.

This issue features sets built in iclone 3 (mixing and matching pieces from my own work and various purchased sets including the modern bar set), the characters are mainly friends of mine and all the women's clothes were built with Apparation's Skirt Magic and Cloth-4-G3. The outfits look good with about 3 minutes of work on each.

Again, if I can do it, anyone can.

very cool james - what software do you use to create the comics? I suppose one can do it with a photo/graphics editor but probably more efficient with dedicate software

After I export the JPGS on the PC, I use a program called Comic Life Magiq (the PC version is just called "comic life") by plasq.com over on my MAC to actually make the comic. It does have it's own export function to make instant web comics (all you have to do is upload them after it generates them), but I prefer to take the jpgs exported from that back into dreamweaver on the PC and use a Dreamweaver extension called PVII Lightshow Magic to create the actual slide shows. But that's a cosmetic choice, I just like the extras it comes with over the Comic Life Magiq version.
