thanks armstrong - and while he does bear some resemblance with lee van cleef, his source texture was some random photo just tweaked using iclone

sen - the untextured mesh ca be seen similar to the superhero where grid lines map where you apply the texture design. As I've said previously the Skintight makes it very easy to create elaborate texture designs because of the UV map

i am not sure what the other G3 systems have in terms of texture files, but the skintight only requires 1 diffuse file to cover both upper and lower unlike G2 where you have a separate upper, and lower diffuse map

Ideally 3rd party developers help fill the gaps (if any) of what RL will offer in terms of G3. Key to this is finding those unique solutions not met by RL.

one more thing to add here that may be lost in translation
going back to G2 cloth, due to EULA, all that can be offered by 3rd party developers are textures, which makes it difficult for the newbie to use as it requires a number of steps, finding the right upper, lower cloth, applying the diffuse, opacity, bump maps etc..From the looks of it is likely RL's G3 will be the same

What Bigboss is offering are fully textured characters - so once you download it, it is ready to use, no need to fiddle with the textures. This is great for the newbie as they don't need to figure out how to apply textures. Now for the person that want to customize, the untextured mesh is provided as well so you can customized once you develop the skill or desire to do so.

Thanks - that is an informative clarification. I sometimes have that newbie problem you described, and it's a nice change of pace to just open up a character and ta da! They are already dressed just the way I want them.

Yea Dulci!  You are right from a newbie point of view!

As a matter of fact, C4G3 by Apparition also offers the Two worlds in one!

All kits, C4G3 Female Casual, SkirtMagic, Heroes, Heroine, Spectre and AstroClones and the soon to come C4G3 Male Wear, offers a great collection of finished Clothing, in Uppers and Lowers, all finished and ready to play.     All the clothing you see in the advertising is included!   Also a HUGE set of template Base Characters are included too!

The new G3 R.L. official specification to distribute textures for Base Characters is in the form of iMaterials, so you don't have to diddle with maps and textures.  Simply apply a base to a character, then select the material and...  Presto!  Your characters are ready to play!

So:  Both SkinTight and C4G3 offer a great variety of possibilities! It is just a matter of style and flexibility.    Take a look at C4G3 products at the RL ContentStore!

Can someone please, please, please explain to me why all you people keep at each others throats. The behaviour is childish and to be honest it is getting irritating. Is there not room for both of these mesh clothes or whatever your camps decide to call them? Let's all try to be civil to one another. I have only had iClone 5 or 6 months and I look at this forum and there is no respect for one another even though you both are no doubt very creative people. Come on folks please grow up.

This war of words between Apparition and Bigboss people must stop surely moderators!!!!

well if the rudeness stops then this wouldn't happen and by the way it was a valid request. Noticed i kept Mike's comment there and did not delete or asked for it to be deleted as some are prone to do

Flybynight (4/24/2009)

This war of words between Apparition and Bigboss people must stop surely moderators!!!!

Hi FlyByNight,

In an ideal world everyone would get along, but just as in the real world, people disagree with each other on this forum too. We can't force people to agree and get along with each other so as long as the replies are not abusive or personal they are not breaking any rules.

Talking of the rules, these are now posted on the forum so if you feel anyone is breaking them please let me know. Thanks for expressing your concerns.
