martok2112 (3/22/2014) UPDATE:
...a lot of errors that cause that portion of the hull to just not hold up so well...
. Scotty: Captain! We're losing structural integrity on the starboard side. Kirk: Sulu, roll us 180 degrees about our longitudinal axis so the port side faces the alien ship. Checkov, plot a course that will get that moon between us and them. Scotty, get our shields up NOW, and get a crew to address the starboard side. And Uhura, post a message on Reallusion's iClone forum, informing them of our status. . LOL! Good one! And thank you, mystic, for the kind words. Hopefully I'll make my next rendition look even better. .

Here's a video demo of my latest build of the USS Enterprise (refit) from ST:TMP. I took a few liberties with the shuttle bay. The lens flare effects were done in Hit Film 2 Ultimate. Everything else was yours truly. Everything is explained in the description below the YouTube video. I hope you like.

Markock, Wow! When the ship first comes out of warp, I literally said, "Wow!" out loud. (So rather than LOL, I did WOL.) It's incredible, and your hard work is really paying off. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Viking. I also realize that the camera work in the demo is not my best....but this was just something I wanted to get out quick...if a bit dirty. This was my first true effort at texturing and unwrapping in Blender, and I'm particularly proud of the fact that most of the texturing was hand drawn, especially on the secondary hull.

Viking, that was an excellent first tutorial! As I mentioned in that thread, it definitely makes me rethink my approaches to movement and cameras. Well done! Maxae, yeah, I saw that for Hit Film 2. I might try that in post production. Everyone, I am so glad you liked my Enterprise rebuild. Will likely work on my K't'inga battlecruiser next....but don't think this is the LAST rebuild I do for the Enterprise/Constitution class. A friend of mine in another forum showed me a video of a studio scale practical model USS Enterprise that now makes me want to rebuild my own ship with even more detail. I don't know that I'll ever build the perfect Enterprise, but this definitely helps me to refine my craft.
