Hello All,

I seen this post several times on this forum and the bad thing is noone posted what they did to get it to work. I looked in the FAQ area of the support area and it was vague.

I emailed support and here is what they said to do.

=====================================
Thank you for contacting Reallusion.

Due to infinite possibilities between software and hardware combinations we are unfortunately not able to guarantee the problem-free installation of our programs under every environment.

If you still have trouble getting past the online verification, please check the following items in order to solve the problem:

1) Please temporarily disable any security program - such as software firewall, hardware (router) firewall, antivirus, phishing filter (Internet Explorer 7), ad-blockers from toolbars - that may interfere with the online verification process for the duration of the installation.

2) Please make sure that you can connect to our website:
www.reallusion.com

3) Please check if you are using a proxy server by following the steps below:
i) Go to "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Internet Options" > "Connections" tab > Click on the "LAN Settings..." button
ii) Please temporarily bypass using a proxy server if you are using one.

4) Please add our website http://www.reallusion.com to the list of "trusted sites" in your Windows Internet Options.
i) Go to "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Internet Options" > "Security" tab > Select the "Trusted sites" Zone > Click on the "Sites" button
ii) Type in our address www.reallusion.com in the "Add this website to the zone" box and click the "Add" button. It might be necessary to uncheck the "Require server verification (https for all sites in this zone" at the bottom of the window before you can add out address.

Please retry the installation of your product.

=====================================

I tried all this and still cannot get it to install. So it looks like I have a useless piece of software. I wish they had a linee to call like adobe does for offline registration or an alternative way to get my software going. I don't have any spyware software or other protection. I noticed Vista comes with what is called Windows defender...I turned this off.

I think they need a better trouble shooting area for folks that are having the same problem.

Thanks!
Darryl

Hi Darryl,

I'm sorry to hear of the problems you are encountering verifying your serial.

The advice support gave you was because in the fast majority of cases the verification problems are due to security issues on the host machine. Obviously without access to the PC the general advice is given to cover most situations.

If you do not have any 3rd party security software installed then you may need to look at the Windows Firewall for the cause. Have you tried briefly turning this off and attempt an install. Also try right clicking on the installer and choosing to Run As Administrator. This may help under certain circumstances.

I have done that (turned off firewall) and tried to running in as Admin and no luck. Reallusion send me a program to run. It creates files showing that I cannot connect to their server or Yahoo.com. Even though I can connect to Yahoo.com. They told me I need to make sure I am online when I run the install....I am always online...only time I am off is when the computer is off. I have no clue why it show I am not online when I am. I know that I could not register an adobe product and a miscrosoft product in the pass. But both had a solution.

Thanks for the help!
Darryl

I had the same symptoms for my install.

My setup is a little different. On my network, one computer acts as proxy, to share the internet access with other machines.

The fix was to:

1 - run the CrazyTalk 5 Pro setup, stopping after I had put in the licence number and before I clicked "Next"

2 - go to the proxy machine and successfully ping www.reallusion.com.tw

3 - come back to my computer and hit "Next"

Worked like a treat

Other people not using a proxy machine, without having any luck installing, might want to try the same, but "proxy machine" will just be _your_ machine

Good luck
