Hi,
I just bought the standard edition of iclone 2.5.
Of course, not knowing any of the REAL questions to ask before one buys always leads to buying the wrong edition. I need the Studio edition so that I can modify motions. No problem, there has to be an upgrade, right? Except on the upgrade page it doesn't offer an upgrade from 2.5 std to 2.5 studio.
I'd like someone to tell me where the upgrade from std to studio edition button is, please.

| Hi, Have you registered the software on your Premium Members page with your serial number? If you have then the normal situation is that under the iClone section of your Premium page you will have the option to upgrade to the studio edition and it will show the discounted price. http://www.reallusion.com/member/program/memberreg.asp It won't matter if it says iClone 2.0 rather than 2.5 because you can still get the 2.5 patch or download the full version.

I have indeed registered. And no there isn't an upgrade button for standard edition to studio edition and so I canceled the software and got in touch with element5 to have them remove the charge from my credit card. They said that'll take 3-5 days (funny how they'll take the money in milliseconds) and when they do that, MAYBE I'll buy the studio version if I haven't bought Poser before then.
Thanks for responding, but the most frustration time I spend is 5 hours. I circled through the upgrade pages several times looking for the page that would so easily have said "Did you buy the wrong edition? Here .. click this button and send us $120 bucks more .. just follow your nose and it'll all work out." Never found it. Upgrades from 1.0 and 1.5 to 2.5 Studio, ($99.95 and weren't those guys lucky) but no standard edition to studio edition upgrade buttons ANYWHERE I could find. Your software demands of its users - no mistakes and lots of guessing when one DOES make a mistake. So I don't think I'm bright enough for iclone. Crazy Talk, OK, but iclone ... well that's another story.
I have several friends who said I'd be sorry for buying iclone. Seems they were right.

| Hi there, I can understand your frustration but out of curiosity I had a look and found the upgrade to Studio quite easily. In the members page I went to Products at the top, then iClone and under Standard iClone there is an upgrade button that takes you to the page you were looking for. As a long time user of iClone and Poser, I would say 'hang in there' it's well worth a little waiting time and with version 3.0 due early next year, I think you'll be glad you did. Shy

Hi, jjwebb
We are sorry about your experience. Actually, we do provide an upgrade button from 2.x standard to 2.x studio. Here is the image in premium page.

I am wondering if this info is not well displaed in the premium page and will let the team see if there's any room for improvement. Sorry for the inconvenience.
If you have any purchase problem next time, I suggest you contact http://www.reallusion.com/CustomerSupport/User/QForm.aspx or esale at reallusion dot com in the first time.
It will help a lot.
Best wishes Visconti

Not well displayed? Not displayed at all you mean. The option you show does not appear anywhere on the upgrade page that is served to me when I login and navigate through to the iclone upgrade page. There are two paid upgrade options on the page. One for 1.x studio user at $99.95 and one for 1.x standard users at 19.95. That's it. No where on the page is there:

Obviously the option you show here is what I spent all day yesterday looking for - can you give me the URL of the page that has that option? What steps does one have to navigate through to get there. Currently, I login, go to the iclone page, click on the 'upgrades' in the left nav and get to a page that offers only the 2 upgrade options I've mentioned. This $119.95 upgrade from std. to studio ISN'T either of those options.
So, you show me a picture that says the option exists, HOW DO I GET TO THAT OPTION? WHAT IS THE URL? Cause I'm real tired of going in circles clicking buttons looking for that page. In fact, I'm done LOOKING for it. I want a URL that takes me directly there. No more click, click, click, oh look the same pages over and over and no upgrade that I'm looking for.

Thanks for your response. I, too, navigate from the members page to the products at the top, and choose iclone. Then, on the iclone page, I click the upgrade button and it takes me to a page that has only two upgrade options listed, neither of which is an upgrade from 2.5 std to 2.5 studio. So far, 'hanging' is the only option I have. Element5 can charge my credit card in seconds, but can't refund in anything less than 3 to 5 days. So, in order for ME to end up with the studio edition I have to buy it for 199.95. That puts a total of $280 worth of charges to reallusion on my card for at least 3-5 days. How wonderful for me, huh? Sure it was my mistake, I bought the wrong edition. But this much aggravation to correct the mistake is a BAD omen. A company that penalizes mistakes in this manner probably produces software as unforgiving, too. The fact you're touting version 3 as something for me to "hang in there" for is a significant indicator as well.
Like I said, thanks for the response, I appreciate it.
