I thought Autodesk converted .rar files .max and what's more when I download some .max files from turbosquid they actually save as a .rar file. What gives?

I need to get these .rar files into a .3ds format and I though autodesk was going to do it for me and why are files listed as .max files but they download as .rar?

Or, if this is not the way to do it, is there a better way to get .rar or .max files converted to a .eds file, so that I can then import them into iclone exchange?

Thanks.

Hi, m.behr

.rar will help compress .max for your easier download.
You can unzip it (right-click and select) first before you import it to Max.

If you have 3ds Max, you can use our plug-in to export to iClone directly.
