I think it's a great idea Bob, and you can weave in a good bit of history to boot! I think a multi-episode story would be a great way to go. I'm giving it a go with "Tesla"

It took me a bit to find this but here is Warlord's ww2 dogfight scene he worked up a while back. Might be worth a look. https://forum.reallusion.com/Topic97289-36-1.aspx You ever play with the flight simulator in Google Earth? You can vary the extremity of the topology which is super cool in canyons, mountains and the like. Kinda cool. Could be useful.

Warlord has a Tut re; how he did his Dog Fight on his Website (Link to be added), which I'm following, for a "Pinhead meets the Red Barron" Project on the back-burner. I would be interested in purchasing any WW1 Airfield Props you make or even a complete Project Airfield from your Store in (I think) PropMasters. @mark. Thanks. I have been thinking about a multi episode approach. When I write my screenplays I do them in 15 minute blocks, so it is possible I can stretch this out (it's heading that way already) into a 6 part serial. Yes, it is a good opportunity to weave in some historical stuff here as well. I'm looking forward to seeing your project. @thebiz.movies. Funny you should mention Warlords dogfight scene as that inspired me to give this project a go. I've not tried Google Flight simulator, but will have a look. Thanks. @colour. Yes, all, or most props and scenarios will most likely end up up in the Pop Masters store. I've always been one to share so others can create Thanks for Warlord's link as I thought I had saved it but hadn't. I'm just wondering. Do people here who are following this project's progress want me to post screenies of the prop models as they are being created? The reason I ask this is that there will be delays between in movie footage/stills of the project as a lot of the time for the next few months will be on prop creation. This project will be duplicated on my website (address below) where I will include some of the prop and scenario development process. I know this thread is for showcasing what is done in Iclone, so if there is an interest I will post here.

BTW - There are highly detailed Google Warehouse Sopwith Pup & the Red Baron's Fokker Triplane Models you might be interested in. I have them converted to iProps. I'll try & find the Clip which, IMO is the best iClone WW Film to date. Posted on TMU. An Historical 90 minute (I think) Film re; 3 Biplanes; Faith, Hope & Charity that defended Malta in albeit, WW2. Took a team a few years to make it though.

Just a couple of quick test screenies of SE5As flying over an enemy installation near Moreuil 1918. German artillery and scenery elements to be added. Map area for this scenario is 338724 sq meters

The terrain for the Moreuil, France scenes is created in Sketchup using the contour/drape sandbox tools. The building blocks are placeholders and each will be modeled from pics gleaned via the internet. There are a lot of references for buildings from the 1918 era to be found by travelling the French countryside thanks to Google Earth. The buildings will generally be low poly with only ones that feature in close up shots being detailed. Similarly 2D trees will be used extensively in the background. The terrain map will be two 4096 x 4096 ground images featuring before the war and after texture mapping.

I like the pink dusk Point? lighting of the SE5As & Army tents & Silhouetting. Are the SE5As Google Warehouse? & how did you get the propellers to spin? I've used iCar Bodyshop (That comes as a Free Bonus item) front wheel helper, to spin my Sopwith Pup & Fokker Triplane propellers & wheels. Although, I don't think the Helper Motion Speed Switch is fast enough. It might be if I invest in the Physics Toolbox, though. I've been hunting around for authentic WW1 Pilots (English & German). The cheapest are $24. Whether or not I can Animate them via 3DXchange PRO, remains to be seen. What Pilots are you using?

Hi Colour I made the SE5A about 8 years ago for Operation Flashpoint. I'm going to make all the models myself. I've looked at several 3D Warehouse models but they are high poly and I decided that if I've got to spend time reducing the poly count I'm better off to start from scratch. I don't mind doing that as half the fun of the project is creating stuff I animated the propeller by using a helper in Iclone. It's a messy (imho) way of doing it, but it works. I also animated (not really the right word here) the texture on both the physical propeller and the blurred propeller, so that as the first spins up it gradually disappears and the other appears. It took a a while to set up, and I'm not totally convinced this is the way to do it, but it works for what I need. I'm going to create my own set of actors/pilots, as I think it is about time I ventured into the realm of human modeling. I'm still researching uniforms and flight suits of the WWI era. I have a swag of modeling books and magazines which are good reference... the model makers have already done the hard yards Cheers Bob
