If you already own 3dx5 pro, do you still have to purchase the facial animation pipeline in order to get the iclone DUF? In order to import Daz facial morphs? The prop dummy maya rig?

You need the Facial Pipeline Character Pack and Genesis Extensions to get the DUF file. The pack also includes the GameBone rig that you can use to build your own full bodied characters.

The Expression Editor for adding facial animation to your own characters is included in the 3DXchange 5.4 upgrade so you can manually setup facial animation for your non-standard characters.

Apologies for the Daz tech speak. Wink

In previous versions of Daz Studio they used the .DAZ file extension. In Daz Studio 4.5 they introduced the .DUF extension for saves. The "Genesis Extensions" which are included as a free bonus with the "Facial Pipeline Character Pack" includes a special DUF file that when dragged onto a Genesis character allows 3DXchange 5.4 to automatically recognise and setup facial animation.

when attempting to adjust, the teeth fall out of the bottom of the face.

The sliders are not available for selection.

To be honest, The game rig appears from what I have seen to be a very powerful tool. If I understand it correctly, it would appear as though you can "rig" an obj with it.

I WILL purchase the facial pack due to the extra features, but I am VERY VERY disapointed if not downright angry that I still cannot make my Daz characters talk. all they do it look around.

 

to be clear, I cannot afford to purchase it at the moment and I changed my work off-day to tomorrow JUST SO I COULD USE THIS NEW TOOL!

Custom DAZ Facial Behavior through DUF key map
To export a DAZ character to iClone, you first need to load up this iCloneFaceKey.DUF file into DAZ before exporting to FBX. The DUF file contains a template set of keyframes, each corresponding to a unique face morph state of your DAZ character which will later be used by the Expression Editor in 3DXchange to determine your character’s expression profile.
By modifying facial morph keys, you can create your unique DAZ facial behavior, either for lip-sync, or emotional expressions. You can keep your own DUF file for future re-use.

Document - DAZ Genesis to iClone Face Key Sequence.XLS is included.

 

It appears as though we must go into the pocketbook once more in order to use facial puppet for expressions and lip syncing!!
