| | From: "Apologies to those who spent time replying here but it was unavoidable under the circumstances. Thanks for your understanding." I don't want to be difficult - but I don't understand? I admit the whole thread was a bit confusing - but that is how some of our minds work ;-) What I really would like to know is what we can do (bad) - to get a moderator to "close" our topic - or did Mike close it himself? Joe P and I can be bad, very bad.....

| | Hey J! I am also as baffled as you are! I wonder what is going on. We all participating in the locked thread were doing a friendly exchange on ideas, copyright and patent matters. I wonder what was our moderator didn't like, but the only thing I removed was the joke on having patented something. I do feel as you do, we have been treated too harsh! Peter Edwards could remove HIS comments, but killing others seems beyond... eh... I opened the same thread again, because it is producing a good educative experience and knowledge exchange. I hope our moderator, will remove the locked one and keep this one opened so we can keep talking. Are you with me?

| | Hi JP, I kept the explanation of the closed thread brief to avoid making a big issue out of this but as Mike has made this public I'd better explain. Basically Mike made some rather ill judged statements in the thread that I and others had replied to in some detail. Mike then decided to edit his post(s) to remove all traces of the offending comments. By doing so it made all the other posts referring to the original redundant and misleading. Had the replies just been mine I could have just removed those but as other forum members had also commented on this issue I was forced to remove all replies from the thread. It is for the above reasons very important that original posts are not "re-written" after other forum members have replied and made reference to comments in that original post. Again, apologies to you JP as you were an innocent party in all this. I hope you can inderstand the reasons though.

| | I am very sorry of the lacking sense of humor we might encounter in this "serious forum". I clearly said in one of my posts, I was going to remove the phrase that awaken all the other comments, and it was an innocuous prank. Of course, if any one got really molested in any manner by me, bringing out uneasiness in the thread, I do apologize. I did not want to bother at all, and certainly this affair is going to make my participation in other threads very, very occasional. This was MY thread! I assumed I could edit it as I would please. I also assumed as long as I would keep clean language and style, politeness and good manners, I would not be subject to suppression. This is certainly NOT my happiest day in the iClone adventure. Sorry again folks. If you would like any time to chat or discuss iClone subjects, please use my email. I'll be there for you! meaparicio@inadep.com

| Mike Aparicio (2/4/2009) This was MY thread! I assumed I could edit it as I would please. Not so. On many forums, editing of posts is not allowed at all. This is because changing the original post can make the rest of the thread irrelevant, as happened in this case. Reallusion allow the editing of posts so that corrections may be made. Posts should never be re-written once replies have been added to the discussion.

| | How come I (and most other developers) almost never get a complex CCD technical question answered by the R.L. Developer staff? Oh yea, that's right - R.L. says does not have the resources to have a member of the developer team participate in this forum. Ok, then I guess us users have to depend on each other for help. Gee, then how come R.L. has staff resources for people to come into our forum and mess with our posts?! JP
OH YEA - How come there is an Edit button if we can't edit posts? And how can I be editing this post, about editing this post.....

| jpiazzo (2/4/2009) OH YEA - How come there is an Edit button if we can't edit posts? And how can I be editing this post, about editing this post.....JP.. As I mentioned in the post above yours, the edit button is for correcting errors and grammar etc. It is not for re-writing or making major alterations to the original post days later, especially if there are already replies to that original post.

| | I guess I don't get why it is so important for you to interfere with these posts. Having been around here for quite some time - I don't see tons of forum abuses that are causing chaos on the boards. If Mike wants to edit his post - let him. If it is so important to you that your comments then have become orphaned - then delete them. And then let others do the same - we ALL have an edit button. I gave NO permission to have my comments DELETED and there was some info in the post I wanted. And then to close a topic.... You know, the community of regular posters here is pretty small - without us this board would be dead. Now I see another post with a video was deleted? Why was that. I smell egos and power trips around here - and it STINKS!

| | Hi JP, All forums have rules I'm afraid. Even though the Reallusion forum is one of the most relaxed, even it has some rules too. You are fully entitled to your views on this issue and I thank you for taking the time to share them.
