| | not sure if this question should be posted here or not? please move it if it's in the wrong place. anyway: i like to work in small self-contained little chunks of work, so - i create a scene and output mebbe 2000 or so frames once i'm happy with that chunk, then the next time i come to work on the scene i'd obviously like it to start where the old scene ended conceptually it's quite simple, i'd like to CUT everything in the final rendered frame, clear all the animations etc in the scene, and then PASTE everything from that final frame into the first frame of the new project, and get going again unfortunately, i can't find a practical way of doing that as yet, although i'm sure there must be a way of doing it any advice gladly welcomed. thanks

| | HI, i have the same problem, but i do one of two things. 1. Move the start bar to the end of the project and then move the end bar out 2000 or so. or 2. Save your project. Delete all the motion/transform/perform edit keys etc.. except for the last one on each asset(prop/character). Then move this last Edit Key to the start of the time line , that way you can start from where you left off. Dont forget to do this on the Cameras too. hope this helps

| how about not cutting the animations but just add more frames beyond 2000, then just render frames 2000+
also you can just reset the cameras and use camera switch to render frames 2000+

| | thanks for the replies. as a temporary solution i'm already doing the first thing you both suggested (i.e. simply changing the rendering process to begin where the last session ended), but that's going to become very unwieldy very fast, as i'm currently planning on creating a largeish movie, so scenes could easily end up being 10s of 1000s of frames long i would guess that i might run into resource problems too, although my experience of iClone so far is that it's very efficient in that regard i've tried zok tone's 2nd suggestion, but it just seems too messy, and i can't really make it work. i want to take a snapshot of everything at the frame level (my distinct recollection is that i used to be able to do that in poser - even way back in poser4), and copy and paste it to the start of the new session - trying to do it at the key level almost always ends up with everything garbled and out of sync when i try and move everything to the start of the new session i'm probably just doing it wrong though thanks for the replies anyway - i'll probably plough on with the simpler techique for the time being
