| My old 500 hdd got front end virused and locked me out.
I fought for a week trying to get it to work again.
And grudingly started looking for a replacement hdd
on ebay.
Mean time I put iclone5 on and older full up 250 hdd
Eventually I got another 500 hdd. Put iclone 5 on it and
it said, licence limit reached.
It said I could carry on if I decativated one.
I thought fine, I'd deactive the virused one.
I got taken to reallusion where it all my numbers were
scrubbed out, and it was like, who are you??
It's one computer! one monitor! Just some hard drive
juggling. heaven forbid I buy whole new computer!? |

I got an old boxed poser and vue and I've put them
on a bunch of virsused/reformated hard drives without problem.
I get virused a lot, and the easierest way for me.
the only way, is a complete re format.
This is an utterly ongoing problem.
Also new hard drive are more oftern larger.
But this 5 limit?? YUK, I don't even recall installing it 5 times.
It's only just come out.
When I buy a product, I like to think I've bought it forever.
That even though I get virused up 20 odd times.
I still can use the product.
But to fork out agian for 3dexchange 5 and iclone pro5
again so soon, is ridiculous.
At least make it for one computer.
And not lose them becuase of 1 virsus,
re formats, upgrade...

| Ok I got a message from support and it seems
I got panicked some.
Deactive comes up when you can't UNINSTALL NORMAL.
like a virused Hard Drive.
Note. I think you are expected to UNINSTALL iclone from
an old hdd when you upgrade...
I think theres a
limit to the number of times you can deactivate
when you've been virused.
And can't uninstall properly.
Deactive doesn't mean you're kicked out of the iclone club,
busted it, lost your iclone. It means there's a limit on the number
of live iclones you can have.
But they do count each hard drive as a whole new computer.

| | John, even though there is a limited number of deactivations, you can always contact support to reset the number. And you're right, a regular uninstall, when connected to the internet, just removes it from your list of registered installations and does not count as a deactivation.
