| By now, we have all been trained and tamed by our providers to be submissive, roll over, and beg for the amusements of their partners, but even so...have you actually read the T and Cs of even the so-called "benevolent" "good" sites? Maybe you should....
Check this out from Vimeo:
9. Licenses Granted by You
"....By submitting a video, you grant Vimeo and its affiliates a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license and right to copy, transmit, distribute, publicly perform and display (through all media now known or hereafter created), and make derivative works from your video...." "....This includes the right to copy and make derivative works from the videos...."
...and just to make sure, there's nothing they leave out, they put the cherry on top:
"...In addition, you waive any so-called "moral rights" in your non-video content...."
....So basically, what you agree to if you upload your work to Vimeo is that they can do whatever the hell they want, AND their partners are more than welcome to rip off YOUR work and do whatever the hell THEY want too.
