| Is there any chance that one day Iclone could use displacement maps or do that use too many resources ?

You have been able to use Displacement maps for some time now. Just use the displacement map in either the BUMP or Blend mapping. Nagel Series has a lot of displacements available that work just fine.
Not really sure what you plan on using them for, as you didn't specify. The one in the background of this video was basically the same one used on all the surfaces in the scene, including the water.

| Ok in Zbrush a Displacment map can put more detail onto a model than I see with Iclones Bump maps also I am a bit confused over bump maps, normal maps and displacement are they all the same thing or is there a difference I am missing ..
AS I understand it from what I have seen in Zbrush their Displacment maps actually change the mesh of the model where as bump maps give the illusion of a more detailed mesh ...

| and I think the normal mapping has to do with the shading - figured I'd share the related videos anyways hehe

| | Depending on the engine, a displacement map actually deforms 3d geometry. Normal mapping is just a variation of bump mapping - it creates the illusion of depth under the right lighting conditions... I doubt iclone would support displacement mapping any time soon as it is quite resource intensive. Best chance would be for fake displacement mapping (also known as parallax mapping, virtual displacement mapping or offset mapping) to be implemented in a future version. UDK makes good use of parallax mapping in addition to normal maps to create the illusion of greather depth on surfaces. |
