I think this is a hardware problem - I am still onthe laptop and only have 256MB Ram.  I just wondered if anybody had come across this and figured out any way of solving it, but I am not able to save a scene if it has 4 moving characters in it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks is advance.

Just a further bit of info - which may be the cause of the problem.

I notice that file sizes for characters are around 3 - 4 MB, yet the custom characters I have made are all over 8MB; one is nearly 10!  Am I missing a step in character creation to compress them somehow?

Your characters now save with all accessories attached. That's most likely increasing you character sizes. You always have the option of removing the accessories prior to saving them, but then you would have to re-attach them after re-loading them unless saved in a Project file.

256mb is the absolute lowest amount of memory required for iClone but at least 512mb is highly recommended. Having four characters in a scene is probably stretching that 256mb Ram too far. Can the laptop memory be upgraded? It probably wouldn't be too expensive to push it up to 512mb if it is possible and will certainly help all round.
