I'm new to this so forgive me if i'm being a bit thick. I've been trying to export my Crazy Talk thingy in avi format (I downloaded the codec to do it it wmv but it still won't do it). When I play it back though the colour is really bad and you can't really see that much movement.

I want to be able to export it so that it looks just like it did when it was open in crazytalk 4. am I doing something wrong?

Have you tried sending a message to RealIllusion support?

I assume you are using CT 4.0 -- can't help you much with that, but as a *very* general guess it sounds like the codecs are not right or the wrong version. If you check with support they can point you towards the latest version of CT for you to download (the latest patch for 4.0 if that's what you're using).

Hi aussieemma,

If you have registered your copy of Crazytalk 4 then you will have access from your Premium Membership page to the patches to bring Crazytalk up to v4.5 and also a patch for AVI problems. You should install these patches if you haven't already.

When you export to AVI video you can normally make changes to the quality of each codec to improve output clarity. For a simple test you can export your video to "Uncompressed" AVI format which is the best quality but generates a very large file. If this exports fine then it may be the settings of the codecs you are using that need adjusting to give you higher quality video output.

Thanks for your replies.

I now can't even access the 'export media' function. For the moment I am having to view through powerpoint but would really like to be able to add the clips to a dvd. I have sent a message to customer support and am waiting for their reply.

Hi did you ever get an answer? I have same problems in 4.5, and can't export video at all in 4.6 (with the updates and wme installation).

ONLY version 4.1 works fine...
