Report:

I have tested most features in Max 2008!

Everything saves OK! I guess users above are doing something wrong.
I wll check every message and test your problems to see if I can help!

Don't take my report as complete. Just want to pass some enthus. to our dear RI developers, as the plugin loads fine and does what it is supposed to! Just will run a FULL test of everything and will report again!

HI, Mr.duchess. Thank you for your comment, but sorry for let you confused.

My original issue is for varidation of VNS shape data exported from 3dsmax through iClone plug-in. No need to be Bone_CS.max file and iClone 3DXchange was just used for the purpose of getting proper VNS shape files for iClone3 to recognize.

Regular VNS data must have around 100KB or more, depending on the complexity of shape.

When I export any max shape data thru iClone plug-in, it becomes VNS format but 1KB file size which is not valid. That is my point of question.

Only me having this trouble?

Thank you

I live in Japan using 3dsmax Japanese version.
The reason was found that iClone3 max Plug-in does not work in my 3dsmax9 Japanese version.

After installing 3dsmax9 Eglish version with iClone Plug-in, VNS shape files were exported properly.

Thank you very much for Forum members.

Hi,

everytime i tried to export something from 3ds Max 2008 to Iclone 3 with the new plugin, i get the message Lost Link and the data becomes only 1KB and Iclone couldnt open it.
It makes no difference if i try it with a standart charakter, non standart character, iprops, etc.
If someone know a solution for this problem i would be very grateful.

MfG

I tried the 3DS Max exporter for R9 (iClone 3 VNS Plugin). The version for iCLone 2.1 seems to work but the version (including te Beta version) for iClone 3 does not seem to work.

I have tried to create an animated iProp, i.e. a simple cylinder that rotates in 3dS Max Studio with a 3 segment animation, i.e. Idle, Forward and Backward...

Using the iClone 3 Exporter, when I select Props as export, I cannot export Geometry and Animation at the same time? It is one or the other and the "ALL" radio button is greyed out? Even after I have entered motion vectors...

Plus there is nowhere to indicate which segment is the Idle Segment in the iClone 3 3DS Max export plugin?

Plus you can only export motion data in a txt file?

Please advize.

What I am trying to do: I want to build my own iClone 3 Dummy Helper ..

Thanks.

Not seeing anything in the white papers for cameras exporting for the V3 exporter. Though I know we can still use the old V2 exporter to make cameras, I'm just wondering if there's any plans to add this back to the version 3 exporter.

Thanks
Loc

Edit: Guess I should add my problem:
Using 3dMax 9 Service pack 2, when I export items with a bump map, the bump strength becomes "fixed" in the iClone client. You can scrub it from say 100 to 0, then click anywhere on the client and it pops right back up to 100. It's just as easy to export with no bump to allow control, but this still should be looked at.
