I seem to have come to grips with creation of the talking choc bar. I am quite comfortable with the results in CT but need to export it to full uncompressed AVI... with transparent background.
I have tried (in Photoshop CS 2) to create a transparent background for my image in jpg (I have discovered that jpg does not support transparency!) and tga. I import this into CT do the animation then export it to Premiere pro 2 (my nle). The problem is that when i put it on to the timeline over a still of the fridge shelf, it is not transparent.
What i want is the talking bar laying on the empty space i have created for it on the fridge shelf and have recorded this on a still.
The exporting goes fine and PP2 accepts the avi. It plays well, just that the background is not transparent.
Give it a try

That was so helpful. Problem solved.
I am sorry that I did not do the first step of going through the tutorials first.
I clearly did not understand the background mask function.
again my thanks.
Give it a try

Just to say that I have finished the CT side of the chocolate bar project. I am really pleased with it.
Thank you to the forums replies which have been so helpful.
I am very taken by the programme especially as I have done some stop motion animation in the past and know what it would have taken me to achieve what CT did quite well and very easily.
Like many of you I would like a few more "controls". Like I tried to get "sweat" to act as tears, but I could not find a way of getting them to start at the eyes. The cartoon-like tears did not really suit my aim.
Now to amaze my grandchildren with my new found programme (perhaps they will be able to teach me)!
Give it a try
