Dear Shy Girl and Popeye,

I can't get the following Motions to load in IC4:

"Animals Packs"... The Mountain Lion, The Boar, The Buck, The Ram and the WolvesPack!

The Cattle Pack has a "Cow" named Animated. When I load it into the scene, right click Perform, act_graze...

The graze action is performed, BUT... the skin does not move with the cow!

iClone4 Content Compatibility Issue - Cause & Solution

Dear customer,

We are very sorry about the content compatibility issues in iClone4 which might have caused some confusion recently.

When upgrading to iClone4, you do not have to re-install all your previously purchased contents. Instead, you can manually copy the contents from their iClone3 folders to the new iClone4 folders without having to reinstall them.

To copy your contents from iClone3 to iClone4, please follow the steps below:
1) For example: The previous iClone3 template was located at the following location.
X:\Program Files\Reallusion\iClone 3\Template\iClone Template. (where X represents the drive on which iClone3 had been installed).

2) Copy above iClone3 folder to following iClone4 folder:
X:\Program Files\Reallusion\iClone 4\Template\iClone Template. (where X represents the drive on which iClone4 had been installed).

Please note however that copying your contents using this method will cause digitally protected contents to show a “Trial” mark in the content manager and watermarks to be shown when applied to your projects. There might also be the case that your contents become “invalid data” due to compatibility issues between iClone3 and iClone4. For instructions on how to resolve these issues, please see the solutions below.

Case 1: Your contents show a “Trial” mark on the thumbnail in the content manager and/or watermarks in the project.
This is the default case when manually copying contents from their iClone3 folders to the new iClone4 folders (See Figure 1).

Cause & Solution:
Since these digitally protected contents were not installed using their installers or downloaded from BackStage, they need to be re-verified for use in iClone4. Please make sure that you are connected to the internet when applying these contents in iClone4 for the first time. This only has to be done once for each content. If the “Trial” mark is not removed, please switch to another tab and return to the original tab to refresh the status.

Case 2: The thumbnail seems abnormal and the content cannot be applied into iClone4.
This is an exception where content developed in iClone3 cannot be properly read by iClone4. The program will note that it cannot load invalid data (See Figure 2).

Cause & Solution:
These contents have iClone3 specific settings which cannot be read by iClone4. We have re-packed the affected content packs for iClone4. You will need to re-download and re-install these contents using the newest installation files. Please follow the steps below to re-download your content pack:
1) Login to your member account:
http://www.reallusion.com/member/program/memberreg.asp
2) Click on the “Order History” tab.
3) Browse through the list to find your content and its installation file download link.

Bonus Packs wont' install

I downloaded 2 bonus packs that will not install. The message is "Setup can not find iClon on your computer....". The bonus packs are iClone v1.5 Bonus 3D Scene Pack LawnB and iClone v1.0 Moon 3D Scene Bonus Pack. However the other bonus packs that were downloaded with these loaded ok. Those were iClone Bonus 3D Scene Pack - Swamp and iClon Bonuse 3D Scene Pack Riverside.

What can be done in order to load the 1st two pack?

Adding Video in Iclone 4

The content manager shows video that was pre-loaded into Iclone 4 and sub folders such as digital juice, facial animation, Intro, and water... but how can I add my own video from .avi files? The template tab allows me to click on it, but the custom tab doesn't? On the right side under video settings, I can't change anything either.

Data Execution Prevention Error in Vista 64 ultimate

When working in iClone I have a problem with it crashing. It does not happen everytime I do something but enough for it to be a problem. After changing something in my scene I sometimes have iClone stop working and give me a Data Execution Prevention error. Windows will not allow me to turn this Security feature off within iClone. Any ideas?

Flowing Hair Elements Vol.1 ?

I purchased Flowing Hair Elements Vol.1. On the ad page is says:

"We also provide 6 completed hair styles for you to use right away with your projects"

I see all the pieces are parts under Flowing Hair Elements Vol.1 in my Props but can't find the 6 completed hair styles. Can someone please tell me where they're at?

A couple of problems I'm having in iClone4

Hey Everybody

I moved my content into my iClone4 folder and checking everything out and out of all of my characters I have, I tried to use Dark Wizard Molech and his head won't move from the center spot, but his body will. When I move his body, his neck strectches (see photo) and the eyes seem to stay with the body.

Also....I was looking at my Rock Band content and I couldn't use the Rock Band hand animations where it makes them appear to be playing their instruments. Anyone have the same issue? Wonder what can be done to correct it?

I sent a message already to tech support but just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or posted these same issues in the forum.

Hi Guys.

Well you get one thing all sorted , then another problem pops up.

Im using latest iClone Pro v4.01 and all updated packs. Having just minutes ago re-installed some.

However Im now noting the previously Animated Planes ,now are just static!!

Before I conatct the support team Iwondering if anyone may know why this may be!?

Below is screen capture of the offending Planes ...

Backstage not working (waits eternally for da.reallusion.com/Default.aspx)

When I try to open backstage, the window pops up but nothing ever shows in it.

At the bottom of the window on the status bar, it says "Waiting for http://da.reallusion.com/Default.aspx..." but nothing ever happens. If I try to open that URL in a browser it complains about an invalid serial number (presumably this is usually passed in a Query parameter in the URL or something).

In any case, I'm running on Windows XP SP2... I tried turning off the firewall temporarily, to see if that was the problem, but no cigar. Any idea what the problem could be?

I've downloaded the 4 items in the G3 Essential Collection Set. When I try to install them, I get the Message "setup program did not find iClone on your computer, the installation of this iClone Character Pack (name of pack) will be terminated."

CloneCloth Templates

I have purchased, downloaded, and installed both G3 Essential CloneCloth addons, and I see extra clothing sets in the Avatar section. But what I dont see are all the templates for designing clothes. I only have the Dylan Clone Casual and the Jane Clone Casual. None of the templates that are supposed to come with CloneCloth. Shouldn't then show up somewhere, so I can choose it?

Cannot install Rock Band Performances

Just purchased and downloaded today the Rock Band Bundle. The first two pieces (Combo_RockBand_Set.exe and Combo_RockBand_AdditionalStyles.exe) installed fine, hoever the third piece (Combo_RockBand_Performances.exe) errored out with the Error 7 message. Normally the fix for that would be to re-download the pack, however I had just downloaded i today to begin with, so it's doubtful re-downloading will make much difference.

But for the sake of argument, I did re-download, and it's still gets the error.

I'm confused....iClone4 not compatible with iClone3.2 content????

Talk about impulse buying! iClone 3.2 is a fantastic program so when iclone 4 came out I immediately purchased it. Now I am finding no compatibility with all the 3.2 content that I have spent a lot of money....... or am I overwhelmed by the 4.0 edition?

Hello everyone!

Got Iclone 3 pro edition since a year, i love the product and all the coll stuff you can do with it!

But yesterday, i decided to get iclone pro v4: as usual, after paying, i received the email link to download and activate it: But impossible to the install program to accept my license number that i got with it! is anyone can help me? i already tried cut, paste and all that kind of stuff and when i go to my reallusion page, my board is unable to activate it!

Unable to reinstall

I had installed IC4 Pro several days ago, and didn't have any problems. However, this morning, when I tried to start it up, it wouldn't do anything. Not even a splash screen. So I uninstalled and am trying to reinstall, but I get an error message that my serial number isn't a real serial number. I am copying the serial number directly from the reciept I got, and the same one I used to install it initially, but it wont accept it.

I went to me account page and clicked the resend button, and the serial number it sent is the same, but it's not formatted the same, it's without the dashes as is seen on the reciept page.

Regardless, I've tried both of them (with and without the dashes) but it's still a no go.l I sent support an email, but they say it's gonna take 2-3 business days before I can expect an answer, and that really kinda binds me up. I was hoping to do a quick project over the weekend...

So any other advice?

iclone 4 won't install

just bought I clone 4 Pro.., last night.

I can't tell you how good it is because, (I can't install it.)!!!!!!!!!!!

There is nothing that makes a person angrier, then spending money on something that doesn't work when you buy it.

I primarily bought this because I've used I clone three and it works really really good.

I have a project that supposedly due Monday and I figure that I clone 4, would help me get it done faster.

But unfortunately, I can't install the software, time wasted trying to get it installed money wasted. I am not a happy person.

When I went to my account page, all the programs I've purchased, are listed.

Except for I clone for which I just bought, why is it not listed so I can get it installed I believe that this is the problem, I could be wrong, because everything that I've tried up to now, has not worked.

What do I have to do to get the thing installed ?

Opening content in iClone Pro 4 VERY SLOW

I'm running XP on a Dell QUAD Core Processor, 3GHz, and 1TB of free space.

I open ic pro 4 and from a BLANK screen, I select Any Character. Hit apply and it takes 2 to 2 1/2 MINUTES to load.
* This happens whether I drag or select apply.
* This is happening to ALL Characters and Props.

[b]In iClone 3, Characters and Props Opens In 2 Seconds![/b]

I loaded 5 Characters to a BLANK scene and it took 12 MINUTES!
This extremely Long wait time... Is This By Design?
Did RL intend for 'Slow Loading Content' to be like this?

Also: Does having IC 3 and IC4 Both installed Affect IC 4 Performance?
I don't mean running both programs at the same time.

The Solution for (Error code:-7) Content Pack Installing Issue

If you cannot install the content pack and the programme appears the error message: Error code:-7 Error Msg:Failed to load string, you'll need to re-download the installation package of the content packs, and then you are able to re-install them into iClone4.

How to copy project files from IC3.2 to IC4

iClone 4 "GET IT" items can't connect with Backstage

In iClone4, content which is made available on a "GET IT" basis can't be accessed.

Clicking a "GET IT" icon leads to an aborted Backstage session in which Backstage cannot connect to the Internet.

However, Backstage started manually from the treasure-chest icon works as usual.

In addition, although it's slightly off-topic, the Bangs and Ponytail in the Flowing Hair collection appear on a "GET IT" basis. Shouldn't these two items have been installed when the pack was purchased?

EDIT: Just to keep things in perspective, I commonly have applications that can't connect to the Internet. However, the difference between manually starting Backstage and launching it from the Content Manager remains.

iClone Crashes on Startup

I am running iClone v3.2 EX on Windows XP Professional. I ran the EnvCheck program, and the only thing that was unavaliable was the iClone Self Cast Shadow. I updated my video driver and this is still not fixed. The following are the two errors I get:

iClone 3 Will Not Install

I purchased the download version of iClone 3 Standard and when I try and install it, I get the following error message: "Error 1335. The cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package."

I have re-downloaded the file to make sure it wasn't a problem with the download itself, but continue to get the message. I have sent a request to support, but have not gotten a reply yet so I thought I'd try this forum and maybe get an answer quicker than one from Reallusion support.

Logging on to RL My Account - Order History, displays ALL of my purchases with a Download URL Link.

So... down the list I go, to re-install my packs.

Since iClone3 and G3 content packs were released, our users have encountered several content installation related problems and generously provided their comments and suggestions. We have been working on the solutions and now are confident to say all of the known issues have been resolved.

[b]There are 2 stages of enhancement that were implemented recently:[/b]

[b]Stage I: Speed up Pack Installation by Pack Batch Content Registration[/b] (completed on January 19th, 2009)

- Starting from WWII GI vs. Wehrmacht iClone content pack, we have optimized the content installation process from the “item-by-item” registration to the “pack batch” registration. This optimization not only speeds up the installation progress, but also provides the accurate indication of the status on the Installation Progress Bar.

[b]Stage II: Optimize the transaction mechanism between Reallusion and Element5 payment gateway[/b] (completed on March 2nd, 2009)

- We have moved away from the email-based transaction acknowledgement method and built a direct transaction link with Element5. With this architectural improvement, your purchase record and product registration can be updated immediately after the purchase is confirmed.

- Content pack decryption mechanism was updated to provide better decryption performance and higher stability during the progress.
