Possible?

Hi Peter,
It's encouraging news to hear. Maybe teh FBX export project will be exhumed soon? :-)

I just completed a tiresome 2 days web hunting for a Wysiwyg / visual Vrml or X3D authoring solution.

As of today I can safely say that none exists thats worth an award of a true multimedia visual editor.

There are products from the past - cortona scene builder, spaz3d, caligari, etc etc... Note: I'm looking at authoring packages that are visually easy to use and dont need a degree in coding or have a learning curve of 3Dsmax etc.

- It's a pity.. I just downloaded Iclone and in a few minutes had a scene up and running with animated characters no less..
then I actually held my breath while I looked for the export button :(
***sigh***

regards!

RE: Export a scene "From" Iclone to 3Dmax etc.. Your ideas regarding storyboarding are good points.
FBX export has been considered for a "Professional" version of iClone in the past but this was not pursued further to the best of my knowledge.

New features are constantly under review so things may change regarding exports in the future. It is not impossible that this may happen one day.

RE: Export a scene "From" Iclone to 3Dmax etc.. I was afraid of hearing that answer unfortunately :(

I feel Iclone has so much potential and the best part is about it is the easy storyboarding in 3D that is possible for people with creative more than technical skills.

However, things such as realtime 3d embedded in webpages (vrml / x3d) is a highly desirable feature these days more so now that computing power has become available and cheaper.

Also if Iclone had the option of exporting to FbX format or similiar, entire scenes could be imported into other compositing software.

Thereby Iclone would find its niche as an invaluable tool to do rapid 3D storyboarding, Prop setup etc in a film makers toolchest.

Regards!

Hmm.. Perhaps software like Milkshape 3D or Wings 3D should have a Iclone importer.

RE: Export a scene "From" Iclone to 3Dmax etc.. Using 3rd party 3D software is not vital to the process with iClone.

Export a scene "From" Iclone to 3Dmax etc..
