There is a separate folder inside containing those.....copy and paste them into the same folder as your textures and obj and mtl, that will help some

Shy

RE: Exporting a hockey set from google 3d warehouse

Yep even I had problem with the boxes. But anyways you are getting a better result than mine. Because I wasnt getting the names of 02 which you see at top left corner ans neither I was getting the red cross bars at top of stadium.

Morever are you able to rotate the camera fully and smoothly 360 degrees? Did you export it as a 3D scene from 3ds exchange? Anyways can you send the file to me as an attachment. The final VNS 3d scene file to be used in Iclone. I will use your version. Its ok if the boxes are not there.

Thanks a lot.

RE: Exporting a hockey set from google 3d warehouse

Hi,
Here's a quick pic of what I got into iClone, perhaps you can tell me how it compares to yours.

There seems to be a problem with the boxes.bmp, I don't have time at the moment but I'll play around with it when I get the chance... unless someone else manages to do it sooner for you. The boxes seperate the blue seating areas.

Shy

RE: Exporting a hockey set from google 3d warehouse

Dear Shy,

Please find my attached file arena. I had created this 3ds and obj from google sketcup following exactly the same instructions mentioned in the tutorials. This file contains all the textures and basically whatever i exported from google sketchup is inside it. If someone cud open this in 3ds exchange and get it to export to iclone.

Also, I've attached a image of the arena, they way it looked in the google sketchup. BUT I'm not getting the exact same look in Iclone. Also there are issues with camera, the camera doesn't move 360 fully if i try to use this as a 3d scene.

RE: Exporting a hockey set from google 3d warehouse

No 3DS Max can't open .SKP files directly. However, you could export from Sketchup Pro as a 3ds or obj and perhaps someone would try the conversion for you. You would need to supply the textures with this too.

Shy

RE: Exporting a hockey set from google 3d warehouse

So is it possible to open models from google 3d warehouse in 3DS MAX directly without any need for opening them in google sketchup first?

RE: Exporting a hockey set from google 3d warehouse

Sorry..........I don't use Sketchup Pro either, I use 3ds Max.

Shy

RE: Exporting a hockey set from google 3d warehouse
storiesdialogues (10/19/2007)
Shy,
It's not working. It looks exactly the same result even after keeping the objs and the 3ds files in the same folder. Can somebody find a right way to get the exact same model of hockey stadium from the link i gave to iclone
I don't use Sketchup Pro so I can't try the download out but there are a few things worth mentioning.
As Shygirl has already said, what is important is that you have the textures in the correct place for them to show up in 3DXchange. If the textures are not in the correct place (normally the same folder as the .OBJ file) you will get the problems you are having.
If you followed the guidelines from the link I gave above you will have chosen the option to export the materials (textures) which means you should have some .JPG or .BMP files as well as the .3DS or .OBJ. Try putting these together in whatever folder you have exported to and see if that makes a difference.

RE: Exporting a hockey set from google 3d warehouse

Shy,

It's not working. The free version doesn't allow this. If you have the Pro version then just export your hockey set using the guidelines from the link below.

http://www.reallusion.com/iclone/3dx_software_sketch.asp

Exporting a hockey set from google 3d warehouse

Hi,

I wanted to use a hockey set for a scene which i found in google 3d warehouse. From there I brought it into sketch up and I'm getting a 3d perspective of the scene.

I just wanted to know as to how do i export this whole set of hockey from sketch up to 3ds echange to iclone. I mean i want a 3d perspective , the whole stadium and not just a part of it.

The way the iclone baseball pack where I can navigate through the whole stadiium..very similar to that, I want to be able to navigate through this hockey stadium having a full 360 camera movement. How do i achieve this
