stretching in clone cloth

I use the Clone Cloth but I'm not a big fan of it because I don't know how to keep it from stretching clothing/textures I apply to it. The two attached images demonstrate. The original uniform is how it should look, but when I apply the image to the clone cloth I get the stretching and distorting of the texture so badly that I can't use it. Even the buttons are distorted.Is there a technique that the pros use to keep this from happening? I go look at some of the military uniforms applied to the avatars (in the iclone store) and they look just about perfect. How do they do it? It can't be with clone cloth, can it?Michael

just downloaded, but the advertised premade outfits are nowhere to be found, just the shoes. Am I missing something? Anyone else got them? I already contacted support.

I downloaded the newly revised G2 CloneCloth V1 upper body in hopes of getting rid of my character's super sculpted torso, but it looks the same to me, at least from the front. My character needs to be wearing a pirate shirt and vest and I have tried manipulating everything I can think of but I can't get his shirt to stop clinging to his huge pecs! Can someone give me step by step directions in very simple language how I might achieve this?

I select the Jack Clone Casual template (with all the guidance lines and whatnot) and go to luanch the diffuse map editor and it says "This is not a valid iClone Project file! Failed to load project". This happens after I select "no" to the "do you wish to save" message.

I've tried choosing yes, and opening a different editor (such as the opacy editor) and get the same result. What is the problem?

G2 Natural Human Base - skin and clothes layers

Hi everybody,

I want to design clothes for Moe and others in the package G2 Natural Human Base. But there are no clothes layers. Only Skin layers and realistic textures. How can I get clothes layers like Jack and Jane have?

Of course I can use the clothes layers from Jack for Moe, but then my design for Moe gets disturbed. It won't work that way.

Hi Peter,

Somewhere in the forum you've answered a question about a G2-suit. And you have answered that he could adjust the G1 suit for his G2 character. Can you please explain how?

Because if I want to use the G1 suit on Jack or Moe, then iClone responds with an error.

select objects in photo paint pro from iClone

Hi everybody,

I understand all of iClone's upperbody, lower body etc. I understand the launch button. Then I see in Photo Paint Pro (for instance) the upperbody of Jane (front and back).

I don't understand how to select the object. I've seen many clips and it looks very easy to fill the front and back with black and white or to cut out some parts. But when I try, I don't succeed.

Maybe you can help me or give me a link to a website or clip?

Clothing Design - The Next Stage...

Hi - I have beenm playing with clone cloth for a while, getting my head around textures, opacity etc. and I think I can now adequately design my own basic clothes, but now I am ready to move onto more advanced designs.

I have noticed that on some characters (Shy Girl's designs are those that spring to mind immediately) the clothing is multi-layered. How is this done? For example, if I use a diffuse map coloured in for, say, a white shirt and black jacket, it comes out as a black and white shirt. How can I get the jacket to look as though it sits over the shirt. Is this what a Bump Map is for? (If not, what is a Bump Map?)

Also, I have noticed that there are layers in Photoshop and I cannot get my head around them at all. For eample, sometimes when I use the "Fill" command, it fills a new layer and covers everything, instead of filling the section of the layer I am working on. I know it's a bit off-topic, but can anybody point me to a Layering Idiot Guide somewhere on the Net, so I can at least see how they interact?

Since G2 Clone Cloth V1 does not have a junior, I purchased the natural human base figuring I could use the junior character to include in my creations.

Unfortunately, if I try to add Jack's or Jane's upper body to the the junior human base, it does not look natural. A female junior does not have breasts like Jane and Jack's upper body on junior human base looks like a kid with an adult male chest.

Is reallusion working on an update or upgrade to include a G2 Clone Cloth Junior?

Frankly, I think this should have been included in the G2 Clone Cloth V1 in the first place like it has been included in the natural human base.

Any chance we can get this as a monthly freeby? or is there any way we can add a clone cloth second base garment texture to any of the natural human base characters?

creating a cloth from photoshop image

Hello,

Is it possible to create cloth for character whose costume was drawn in photoshop. It is not a photograph of the costume but it is a costume sketch which was hand drawn and then brought to photoshop. Or does the sketch have to be independent of the body?

Bascially I want to know is whether it is possible to create characters whose costumes are designed on computer rather than taking photographs.

I've seen the tutorial where you take a picture of a sweater and manipulate it to fit the clone cloth template.
Is there another way of adding textures to my templates and editing them so they look like real clothes with some
dimension and "weight" to them. When I add textures, it looks flat.

And...is there a place that I can purchase different modern day clothing for both male and female characters?

hi,

i have a pbs to apply my tudors henri VIII G2 textures.

I bought clonecloth

so i have my jane casual caracter in iclone. in caracter menu, i go in template, i open folder g2 clonecloth v1, i select jane and i click on jane clone gown to apply cloth on my jane caracter. i have a white dress apllied on my jane caracter. to apply tudors henri VIII texture i go in upper body , modify and i load in diffuse a dress for example jane saymour texture, but it's not correct when i aply this dress texture. i don't understand how to do to apply those textures correctly. someone can help me please and give me an explain?????

Hi,

I bought iClone to create custom characters for my business. I need to create a library of custom clothes, accessories, props and motions. I'm starting with the clothing, but I'm having trouble.

How do I do this? I have Paint as an image editor. Is there only certain image editors that work with Clone Cloth? If so, can I download one for free? I watched the tutorial, but when I click launch, it does nothing. Should it automatically find my image editor on the computer or should I do something to link it to iClone?

As I mentioned before, I'm interested in creating custom content for all categories: clothes, motion, accessories and props. I'm learning DAZ Studio in order to create custom hair, accessories and props and motion editor for custom motions. Are these the only software pkgs I have to master to be able to create custom content? Am I on the right track?

Please let me know additional software that will help me in my quest. Thanks for your help.

[Archive] What's next for CloneCloth?

Over on my blog I posed the question, what do we want next for CloneCloth. Well I thought I would do the same here.

We now have Jane and Jack (The Essential Humans) all kitted out with a new CloneCloth pack but what would you like to see next?

There are still 7 G2 characters who have yet to receive the CloneCloth treatment so which character(s) would you like CloneCloth for, and also what type of template designs?

Share your thoughts either here or on my blog. I think it will be interesting to see what everyone wants from CloneCloth.

Please can somebody explain in Idiot-Speak how opacity is used to "cut holes" in clothes? I have resd the instructions in the I-Clone Manual, and I have followed the tutorial on the old forum, but I what seems to be the basic idea (put black where you don't want the cloth to show) isn not working for me. My character is getting black collar and sleeves!

Can anybody tell me why?
