a2912, from what I get from your DxDiag there may perhaps be a problem. Do you have a DirectX SDK installed? Your DxDiag show that you did not run any of the Direct3D tests. If you run them, what results do you get? See if you can maybe switch to use the retail version instead of the debug version of Direct3D (Control Panel > DirectX settings > Direct3D). Other than that I can only repeat Peter's suggestion that you contact support by completing the [url=http://www.reallusion.com/CustomerSupport/User/QForm.aspx]support form[/url].

recommend you copy and paste the text from the dxdiag file in this forum, can't seem to download it and see it

just from what you had shared so far, your video card, it does not support self cast shadows, the 1GB RAM is above the minimum spec so should be ok but i'd prefer 2GB myself

sounds like you have a robust gfx card, the only other thing i can think of is the amount of RAM you have - 2GB is probably the minimum i would use

another thing what OS? if you have vista, you need to use iclone ver 2.1 or higher i believe

run dxdiag (go to start- run-type in dxdiag) and get the resulting report out to reallusion. that might help in the diagnosis

this looks like integrated graphics on a notebook - perhaps something with your RAM size - typically integrated graphics uses some of your system memory and if there is not enough it can cuase the crash.

Another possibility is with DEP (data execute prevention) - Most new processor have execute disable bit where it prevents potentially malicious software from executing code in certain areas of memory - now some applications do make use of these sensitive areas of memory so may cause this crash - go to windows and turn off DEP

Sorry to hear about your problems starting iClone. If you have successfully downloaded iClone then you shouldn't need to do so again.

As I mentioned above it would be best to supply full information about your problem to Customer Support who can use this information to try and diagnose what is causing this problem on some systems.

Have the same problem. My grafic card is Radeon X1950Pro. The newest drivers since 14.02.2008. DirectX version since November 2007. Crashes after start. I can't download the program many times. It's too expencive, because of the international traffic. Please help

Thank you for explaining things a bit more. It appears from the details you have given that graphically you should be able to run iClone ok but without Self Cast Shadows.

This may seem obvious but have you restarted your computer since installing iClone. A restart will often solve problems like this.

Because the program is not starting at all you will need to contact support via the support link I gave above. They should be able to help you solve this.

Hi,

I'm not entirely sure what your question is. Are you saying iClone won't start at all or is your problem just limited to the Self Cast Shadow?

If iClone won't start first make sure you have the latest drivers installed for graphics, audio, directx etc. Also make sure your laptop meets the minimum requirements. If you have done this and it still won't start you will need to contact support using the support form giving as much information as you can about the problem.

With regards to the Self Cast Shadow option, the ATI X700 does not support this feature so you will not be able to use it. The feature is not essential to run iClone so this should not really cause you any startup problems.
