Yes I read the same thing about the 3.0 I think my Direct X is the problem. The AGP acceleration is greyed out and not available. Of course I have contacted the PC manufacturer (Gateway) and they are more interested in sales than helping me get to the bottom of the problem. It is a Gateway convertible that is great for doing intricate work with the stylus, but then I have to move it all to my other PC to use the big gun benefits :)

Thanks again,

Jo

RE: New Intel Drivers Enable Pixel Shader Support

Hi Jo,

The press release from Intel gave the impression that Shader 3.0 would be available on older chipsets including the 945G but as it didn't work for you then maybe it is not case on some versions of the chipset.

You can check out this page for reference which gives more information on the features of the new drivers and the chipsets they are for.

http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/08/20/intel_updates_gma_driver/

RE: New Intel Drivers Enable Pixel Shader Support

I have installed the new driver for intel 945gm and I still can't get pixel shader. If you have an Intel integrated graphics chipset and previously were unable to choose the Pixel Shader option then you should check out the new drivers.
The drivers, 14.31 for Windows XP and 15.6 for Windows Vista are available for the 945, 963, 965 chipsets and in testing with a 965 Express chipset, the previously locked out Pixel Shader option became available after installing the new drivers.

Important: Please make sure you check you have the correct drivers for your Integrated graphics Chipset before installing.
The drivers can be found Here: (Under Graphics)
