Thank you to all!!! I have some script ideas that are perfect for iclone. I do have one question regarding 'sexy stuff'. I am looking for motions that have two characters making out, or other stuff that would be considered PG or even X rated. Is there anything like that from iclone......, just the kissing stuff if nothing else.

I'm not making a porno, but a crazy teen soap opera that has kids making out all the time.

THank you in advacne for your help.

Ultra!

RE: Filmmaker using iclone
Teviniii (11/6/2009)
In lieu of removable walls, you can adjust the clipping planes to quickly clear the path for greater camera flexibility in tight spaces.
Excellent point Teviniii! :cool:

RE: Filmmaker using iclone

In lieu of removable walls, you can adjust the clipping planes to quickly clear the path for greater camera flexibility in tight spaces.

RE: Filmmaker using iclone

=======================
Additional Question to Reallusion:
=======================
As an afterthought, I'm not sure of the contents of the standard iClone version. Does it come with the house architecture or not. I didnt use this but.. if it comes as standard my graphics fit it.

Also, the suite of architecture that comes with iClone and seeminlgy always has, those cones, shapes, and everything else, massive collection. Is that also a standard inclusion with iClone standard download???

I have NO idea.

Armstrong.

RE: Filmmaker using iclone

Welcome to iClone :)

Just a few quick answers on some of your questions:

Naming conventions - You can add your own folders to help keep yourself organized

There are no "standard" sets that come with iClone - as thebiz mentions, there are some wall/door props available so that you can create your own sets, or if you have 3DXchange you can browse through the countless props, sets, etc. out there for free (a terrific place to start for that is the google 3d warehouse) without having to build them yourself in Sketchup.

If you have a set open in iClone with 4 different walls, you can elect to hide one (or all, for that matter) of the walls in your pan-out shots, etc.

That's about as coherent as I can be offhand without the program open in front of me.

RE: Filmmaker using iclone

Hey Ultrax11x,
Heres the manual

As per sets and such, I often create rooms and terrains in sketchup and feel its a good basic modelling tool. Don't worry about sketchy physics as I don't think it applies to iclone. There is an idoor prop that can be textured and sized to fit in the cutout that I provide in the sketchup room model. There are also basic wall props with window and door cutouts available in the default props (or are they part of the bonus download features you get after purchasing..sorry, i forget. Perhaps someone else will know).

Filmmaker using iclone

using iclone4 free download version.

Hello all. I was wondering if there are any filmmakers coming from a traditional background using iclone? I have some ideas I would like to try out, short films and scenes from feature length films. I experimented with Moviestorm and feel that iclone is a superior product. Just like with MS, there are some things that I find odd about iclone and how you actually make something in the software.

I just wanted to make a scene with two people talking in a room. Where are the walls, and walls with doors and windows in them to take advantage of the amazing lighting options shown by our friend "Clonebot Zack"?

SO, I go looking for a 'set' for a living room and the search is no help s I have to go through pages manually, then I find some sets with no walls, and in particular I would at least like to have walls with doors that are iprops so its easy to use. If I buy a set that doesn't have the interactive door then its a waste as I can just make the walls and door in sketchup.

Should I be investing more time in using sketchup and sketchy physics to create operating doors and windows and then assign some kind of aml script to them ?????

Another thing, on a 'real' set its great to have the option of being able to get rid of a wall so you can move the camera back and use a longer lens setting. You should keep that in mind when creating a proper set template.

No Manual Yet?
I would love to see this thing as I have wasted 2 weeks figuring out what this software can or can't do. Is the manual for iclone3 worth looking at if it there all all these new features in version 4?

Naming conventions:
Its kind of hard to figure out where everything is as there are so many folders of stuff to go through. The fact that a movement for a character can be in multiple places means that you have to write down everything or keep checking the reference
