One is Adobe Audition 2.0 or 3.0, where you add the audio plugins from Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5. There is a DX Pitch shifter and formant modifier leading to incredible variety of voices. All with your own inflections and accents. MUUUUch better than ANY Text-To-Speech package, which will always sound cold and inexpressive, no matter how good the voices are.Another excellent choice is Sonar 6.0 or 7.0 which include de Roland VariPhrase technology, in a module named VVocal. Vvocal is totally amazing indeed!Go ahead. You will get excellent results with either one. Both also, allow to compose a sound track while watching the video, use MIDI files and I think are the ideal tools for a well finished video!Mike

RE: Voice Changing Software Search

This is something I've been looking for in earnest as well. I tried the demo of Voxmorph but seemed all it really did was change the pitch of my voice. I played with the adjustments for quite a while and never did get anything that sounded close to realistic.I like the concept of TTS, but it seems most of these are developed for voicemail and visually impaired person applications. So true realistic voices are not as much of an issue as being able to understand what is being said. I don't know why but even the TTS voices that people say are the most realistic, still come out with the voice sounding like it has a lisp or as if it is someone talking under water.I wonder though if some of these TTS voices could be altered within an audio editor like Audicity to make them sound more realistic. Has anyone here had any success doing that?

RE: Voice Changing Software Search

Hi. Thanks for all the tips and information so far. Tried out most of the above but still searching for something really effective - on a reasonable budget. For me iClone is for fun, but I would like to get the vocals correct at least. Any further suggestions would be most welcome.www.blazeaudio.com have a variety of free trial audio 'voice changing' downloads but again for me not really effective.

RE: Voice Changing Software Search

Hi. If you want total control over all your sound files, I suggest using a mixing suite. They take a little more learning initially but the investment in time is well worth it. While I'm using a commercial product now because I'm making original music as well, I started out with 'audacity' which is open source software. You can download it free at sourceforge.net and it can do more than anyone would want to achieve in iClone. When you get a sound you like by filtering your voice, just save it under a user friendly name like 'me-old woman' or 'me-young boy' as the morphs are relative to the source voice.Good luckSimon

RE: Voice Changing Software Search

You can import any recorded wave file, and apply a voice filter which is what I have discovered very effective. With some experimentation and tweaking of the pitch/timbre/correction level controls you have the ability to make the same wave file emulate various voice tones.

RE: Voice Changing Software Search

Does MorphVox let you apply a vocal filter to a pre-recorded audio file or do you have to repeatedly perform live ?

RE: Voice Changing Software Search

Based on this dialogue I just bought the software - I'm looking forward to kickin' it's tires around some more. I bought a new mic to do a better job of capturing my voice with less room interference - this looks so promising! It never worked the way I expected and the customer assistance at Screaming Bee is 100% better than you'll get with most software. I prefer Morphvox as mentioned previously...works just by choosing the voice you want and the change is based on your voice after doing a small yet effective Voice Doctor function to get your voice pattern. Takes less than 1 minute to record your voice pattern then changes the presets and the new creations you make based on that voice pattern. They have a trial period, so what can it hurt?

RE: Voice Changing Software Search

I have AV Voice Changing software. You can alter voice pitches, speed etc within Text Aloud or other software and therefor obtain many different character voices. Will save hours of trying to get my voice to sound 'as good as I look', and fiddling in other programmes.

I can now get on with the important business of 'making movies' with iClone.

You can try out Text Aloud at www.nextup.com

Please note however, that the sample voices you get with the trial download are only similar to other TTS software.

RE: Voice Changing Software Search

Thanks Guys.

I have been looking at Neospeech and Textaloud.

I'll bite the bullet and dig into the bank balance.

I'll let you know how I get on.

RE: Voice Changing Software Search

Personally I like the Kate and Paul 16khz voices from Neospeech which are very realistic and not too robotic most of the time.

If you would like to sample some of the voices just click the names in the Preview section from the link below.

http://www.reallusion.com/crazytalk/ct_tts.asp

RE: Voice Changing Software Search

Keep searching...I have seeked the same.

I have yet to find a text to speech solution that works well...

And I can't really figure it out - we have these wildly complex, 3D visual / image effects available - but we can not seem to simulate human speech with any acuracy at all.

I suspect that it is about commercial need - do we really care what our bank balance "sounds like" when the accout is nearly empty....

Voice Changing Software Search

Hi. Firstly thanks to everyone who has helped and e-mailed in the recent past.

I have an idea for an iClone project but as there will be many characters in the script I am looking for a good voice changing software package. (For some reason my voice does not quite suit the 'big screen').

I have tried two or three packages but they are not great and not consistent. I have even tried toy microphone voice changers, handkerchiefs over the mike and a variety of other things.

I would ideally like a Text to Speech package that does not give out Microsoft 'android sounding' voices, but I am obviously open to any suggestions.

Thanks very much in advance.
