Hi Eliza,

Thanks for the question. Crazytalk 4.6 scripts do work in iClone 3.0 but to get advanced facial animations you will need Crazytalk 5. I would really have to advise that if you are purchasing now for the first time, go for Crazytalk 5 because of the complete control you have over facial movement.

Will IC 3 work together with Crazy Talk 4.6? I want to purchase a version of this programm to use it together with Iclone, and I can get 4.6 for a good price. But if it doesn't work together with the new IC 3 that would be a bad deal.Maybe Peter Edwards has some information about that?

Hello everyone. Yes, July is just around the corner and we are working on finalizing the release of iClone 3. Some final features are still being tweaked and we're sorting the bugs to give you a fantastic release. Seeing things from deep inside the lab, I can tell you that you will be as astonished as I am about the functionality inside the new 3D movie machine. As long as all continues to go as planned we forsee a release around or just after mid July. We will be showing more video and screenshots between now and then so stay tuned to http://Blog.Reallusion.com for updates and here on the forum.

Grim stuff, but realistic but dark and fussy I like some colorfully sharp and happy pictures tosee in that demo.but you can not please them all.I hope to buy that pogram soon.:)thanks.

uh oh I just bought 2.5 studio a couple days ago.
I hope you guys can upgrade me for free because now I am broke and my woman is gonna kill me when she finds out I spent more money to get studio.
I bought standard first thinking It had a motion editor and nope so I bought studio with the added intentions of importing 3ds files with the plugin and nope it is a plugin for 3ds the program. I have some free 3ds models that I now can't import :-(.
so now I gotta spend more money on 3d xchange??? that sucks.

What will version 3 cost? Also what will the upgrade price be from version 2.5? Any release dates, yet?

Reallusion have always offered generous upgrade discounts with all their products so I doubt it will be any different with iClone 3.0. Exact details have yet to be announced though.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean about the textures looking weird? Certainly YouTube videos don't do justice to the excellent quality output that iClone can generate but which textures do you refer?

Full texture mapping features are available in iClone including, Diffuse, Opacity, Bump, Glow, Reflection and high resolution textures can be used and they render with fantastic detail. If you take a look at some of the textures from the website featuring the new G2 characters I think you will find some very impressive texture work there.

Even more advances in these areas will come with iClone 3.0 for sure. More details about new features will come as it gets nearer to release.

flat, and the textures are weird looking. This may be from older versions
of the program, I don;t know, but might these things get better in version 3?
The textures look kind of like some kind of wallpaper from a game, often.

Does that mean I can work with a simple three light setup - the basics of filmmaking? That's a make or break for me. I've been watching and experimenting with machinima for ten years now and the lack of the basic tool of visual storytelling - the three light system - is what's stopping me from producing feature length machinima at this point. Will iClone 3 open that door? From what I can gather from the preview clip it looks like it.

You are just too good at persuasion. I do understand your logic.
I have watched the development of iClone. You are really achieving an incredible degree of quality with it in a very short time. hats off to you and your entire team of developers.
I am interested in iClone as a music video producer/director. I think it would be an effective addition to create music videos for the web. I work with a lot of Indie bands.
Of course, we all know, purchasing new software is not just about the financial investment. There is also that monster called the 'learning curve' that looms ahead after the purchase. It appears to me that the iClone learning curve to get up and running would not be too overwhelming.
How long will the 'special sale' of the "Power Bundle Pack II Pro" last?

Hi lululee,

I fully understand your decision but there are a couple of things worth mentioning at this point.

The March 2008 release date that was mentioned was the provisional timeframe for release but as with all software development this date could get pushed back by a month or more. There hasn't been an updated official release date made but it is something worth thinking about.

Also while having to pay for an upgrade so soon after purchasing a product is never nice it can be countered by special offers at release time. For instance when iClone 2.0 was released, those who were upgrading from iClone 1.x got the Working Fashion Pack completely free. This pack had a value of $129.95 which was more than the upgrade price itself. Those that purchased for the first time did not get the pack nor did those who received a free upgrade.

Whatever you decide to do I'm sure you will have a lot of fun with iClone when you get it. :)

I guess i should put off my purchase until the new release. A march release date as mentioned in your promo on this thread, is only a couple months away. Hi,

As the release of iClone 3.0 is still a few months away I doubt a free upgrade will be made available at this time. As with Crazytalk 5 an official announcement regarding free upgrade offers will probably be made nearer the release date.

If you do purchase now though you will no doubt be offered an attractive upgrade discount once iClone 3.0 is released. :)

Hi all.

This is obviously a massive advance on Iclone 2.5 - so, will there be a need to upgrade my hardware?

Currently have 1.5 GB Ram and a 2.7 GHz CPU - But I have no idea what graphics card I have! On other threads, I have been discussing the limitations of some of my scenes, and I think, after advice and comments from other users, that the graphics card is the weak link! If I need to upgrade, I am thinking it may be better value to go for a complete change than just "bits" so your advice on the hardware requirements for I-Clone 3 would be greatly appreciated (even if it is just a guestimate as work is still in progress.)
