Technically, I think that would be overkill. Besides, one has so much more control in a conventional photo-editing application.

Thanks for listening. :P

Wishful Feature & Roadmap

Reallusion values your every comment about CrazyTalk.
Your suggestions have been collected for our product roadmap as below.
Please go through the available features here, and request for your new idea.
This table will grow regularly according to your efforts.

[img]http://forum.reallusion.com/image/2007.10.18_001.jpg[/img]

CrazyTalk for Stickam

Since there is a CrazyTalk for Skype - I would love to see a CrazyTalk for Stickam - is anything like this possible since the groundbreaking would have been done with Skype?:w00t:

Crazywishes

Hello All,

I decided to copy paste my wishlist requests for Crazytalk from the old forum. I also produced a sample animation that I will post in the Showcase Yourself forum when I figure out how to do attachments of video.

Profile-frontal animation for 2d: Imagine drawing 2d images or taking photos of a head turn. Simply load the three images(front, 3/4, side profile) into Crazytalk. Have three different auto head types (the aforementioned front, 3/4, side profile)for each corresponding image. When the lipsyncing is generated and the user specifies when a head turn takes place (make it like one of the emotional states in the palette) Crazytalk will morph through the drawings.

2.5d heads: Allow multiple drawings/images to generate a 3d object.

Quicktime: Output to resolution independent quicktime (With Alpha channels)

Alpha rendering: Output the renderfile only of the Alpha Channel.

Photoshop Extended: Allow for output to video layers in Photoshop Extended.

Larger Aspect Ratio: Output to any aspect ratio specified (Resolution Independent). Have standard presets: HD/NTSC/PAL/Film.

Macintosh Version: My unit is a Macbook Pro. Thus far I have used Parallels Desktop to run Crazytalk/WinXP. A Universal Binary version for the Mac would be ideal.

Vector Input/Output: Allow manipulation of vector head drawings.

Thanks.

Production blog http://bigheadscientists.blogspot.com/
A cut and paste across projects would be nice.

Basic windows function, please add it to your application.

i.e. I create a complex project, I save it as "A", I create another project and save it as "B".

Like any software engineer I want to save time by cut and pasting sections (mouth, eyes, etc.) across and modify them instead of having to create the whole thing again from scratch.

Is the any way to do it ??????????????????????

Maybe some file I can copy across ?

If not, get the basic cut and paste function sorted.

Lip sinc screen

I would like to see a better way to edit the lip sync line, perhaps a pop-up screen that gives a bigger picture. Those little itty-bitty phoneme tags against that little itty-bitty wave file, are a bit difficult to sinc up. It's kind of hard on the eyes and patience to be messing with these little icons for hours at a time in front of a computer screen ... it makes for a long day of animation.

Crazy Talk 5 is designed pretty much for the amateur, home user, but it has so many professional and commercial potentialities, than it really needs to address this level a bit more.

[Archive] Multiple Characters

I realize CT 5.0 may have some changes in this regard, but if not (or even if so :>) one thing that could improve CT would be to have a randomly seeded head and eye blink movement for every animation.

As it stands now, in order to generate multiple characters using multiple passes, you end up with all of your characters with the exact same shoulder/head and eye blinks, as if they are coordinating synchonized dancers (this is true even if you put eye and head movements in the timeline -- during the times in between movements the default behaviors are the same).

There is a workaround -- you can insert silence into your .WAV file so the two characters lines aren't the same length and then trim in post, but this is a PITA (especially if you forget to do this initially).

Lips Sync on the fly

Could it be possible to get a kind of interface that could read inputs from text or wave channel and sync lips with the tts ?

Here is what i need :

Actually i'm using Alicebot but i was with the idea that Crazy Talk would be cooperative with reading outputs from the server.
Yes i know, i'm dreaming but there is one interesting base with Crazy Talk and as it's possible to do the job with some wave inputs like in skype, i was wondering if it could be possible with generated text through php.

Actually it only synthesizes voice [url=http://www.r-kraft.com/robot/src/talk.php ]test_this_thing[/url]

Some plans for the future to make Crazy Talk compliant with apache server and / or at least php ? :w00t:
Thank you !

Introduction screens

One problem is that sometimes, in the output video, the talking head gets its beginning speech clipped off at the beginning. Of course, when the video is restarted in the player, everything works fine since it is then fully loaded. I suppose leaving some blank dialog space before each speech would solve this but that's a waste of the cool effects and wastes time for the viewer and increases the size of the file.

Not only to work around this problem but as a desired addition, I would like the ability to begin a video with an opening text screen (title, introduction data, advertizements, etc.) before the talking head cuts into the scene.

Crazy Talk 5 is amazing. Be able to preview blinking (L/R eye) in facial mode with the press of a button.

2. Be able to edit eye control points *while* seeing a thumbnail pic of the eye in the closed position.
The closed eye position should automatically update while editing the control points, so we can
best remove any distortion.
Some more:
3. Slo-mo blinking preview. Or be able to use a slider to fully open and fully close eye at any position.
4. No matter what I do, I always get eyebrow smear when blinking. So instead of using
real eyes or fake eyes, how about a third option: real eyes + fake eyelids?
[Archive] Using this software!

Hello, I want to use this program to create a tv programs for my TV channel,
what I have to do?

[Archive] Lip synching update-command

"Top commad missing"
After "Ctrl"-loading WAV-file the lip-synching is needed to update.
How?

By
Arnold

[Archive] Request for features

I just bought this program a few days ago and while I've worked extensively in 3D (Max) for over 10 years and done some fairly good work in the industry I am amazingly impressed by this little program. The time it takes for me to do lipsync with CT is less than the time it takes for me to even *think* about the workflow for doing said lipsync in my production software.

That said, there are three things I'd really love to see added to make this delightful piece of software something I could really use in my work (and, yes, it is already something I can fit into my workflow, albeit with some post production processing).

1) Custom Eyes and Teeth. I'm not familiar with the .PAK format (except for games, and it apparently isn't the same format here) but if CT allowed the use of .JPG or .TGA or some other such image it would be easy for us to include custom eyes and teeth.

I realize that custom eyes and teeth might be a problem for those who are using CT and the CT player for such apps as phone messaging, but perhaps there could be a default set in that case.

2) Ability to accomodate larger/more unusual faces. CT works absolutely great when the face structure is relatively "normal". But with large chins (think Mr. Incredible or Superman) or wide or high foreheads (even women with a lot of hair) CT distorts both the mouth and the eyes. I'd really love it to be able to accept these very odd faces.

Along those same lines, it would be nice if the mouth had more edit points along the top and bottom. The lip points work just fine, but with only one top and one bottom edit point it's sometimes very difficult to accomodate mouths that are open at a cockeyed angle.

3) Timeline improvements. The timeline is actually fairly sophisticated for such a low-priced application, but I'd love to see the ability to "stretch out" emotions as well as include a blink track (having to do it manually is a PITA). By "stretch out" I mean being able to indicate the start of an emotion and have the effect show up on the timeline "stretched" the length of its application. At the same time it would be *extremely* useful to be able to name this effect on the line itself, so I could see at a glance on the timeline where the character was "angry". Does that make sense?

I've already done some impressive animations combining CT characters (so I have multiple ones talking to each other) as well as interacting with my 3D models in a believable way. I have a feeling my collegues will be bugging me for my secret weapon -- forgive me if I hide it for a little while <g>.

[Archive] Url Domain

Make life a lot easier, and make it so
you can save your url instead of having
to put it in every time, unless you can and
i have missed how to save it

Paul

[Archive] Crazytalk for Stickam

Okay Vis hows the crazytalk version for stickam coming along??? any sign of a beta yet??

TTFN
Jim

[Archive] AVI to SWF

Hi:
In the course of a search, I noticed a post vis-a-vis the ability to play a Crazytalk produced video on one's website sans the need for the Crazytalk player (many people visiting a website, myself included, are reluctant to download from unknown sources). There was a recommendation for the conversion of .avi format to .swf. The purpose of my post is simply to thank the person who made that suggestion. As a result, I purchased a conversion program (FlashVideoMX ... more flexible and less costly than SWISH video2)and have been able to upload a production to my website that autoplays without the need for a special player.
Thanks again.
Ron

[Archive] mp3/wma support

it'd sure be nice to have mp3/wma support along with wav and other audio formats
:P

[Archive] Phoneme Improvements

We do lots of facial animation work and one thing we've noticed is that folks have different ways of talking -- some form their phonemes in rather unusual ways, others are more expressive and while "ennunciating" move their mouth quite drastically while some barely move their lips.

While the .WAV lipsync read track is very good, I think it could be improved by:

1) Allowing custom phonemes. These could be loaded in a set, for whatever character you are doing, or you could just allow us to edit the existing ones (and have them applied to the whole phoneme track).

2) Allow a strength to be applied to the entire phoneme track. This way a person who is *very* expressive could move their mouth more violently than a person who barely moves their lips.

I see the workflow as follows -- you load the .WAV track and generate phonemes as usual, but then you can edit the entire phoneme set with the changes applied globallly to the track, as well as have a track strength percentage that controls the expressiveness of the person speaking (which would be a global amount applied to each phoneme's strength -- this would be added or subtracted to the strength values the .WAV read track automatically generates).

Truly, I'm not complaining here, just offering as many suggestions as I can since it looks like we have about six months before CT 5.0.

[Archive] Basic Face Layer

Since it appears that CT 5.0 won't be out for the next six months, I have a few more suggestions to improve it.

One thing that would really help would be some sort of "Basic Face Layer" that could be set at the start of a script and then the other facial expressions would layer on top of this. This is similar to the way the phoneme track works -- you can set your character to a smile and the phonemes work with the smile as an additional layer.

There are lots of times I'd like to change the basic structure of a character to start, with say a squinty eye, or snarling lip, but still be able to put other facial expressions like a smile or frown on top of this. Short of editing each and every expression this is currently impossible.

It would make such things as a sleepy smile (just close the eyes down somewhat to a sleepy position and then put your smile on top of that) easy to do -- these expressions could be further saved for even more possibilities.

[Archive] Real Time Head control

Another wish -- the ability to record head/eye movements in real time.

I'm not sure this would be a huge deal to program since you can already audition both movements in real time -- just add the ability to record this as you play back the timeline. This would be hugely helpful in getting realistic looks (add a blink button with a left mouse click or keyboard tap and I'd be in heaven!).

You'd have to do both tracks separately, but I see it as choosing the appropriate track and hitting record much as you do with the .WAV file input. This would be a MAJOR improvement in CT.

Meshes in Crazy Talk 5

What animal-head meshes are likely to be included with Crazy Talk 5 ?

Is there any chance of a dragon ?
