The respone in my earlier topic was very helpful and informative.I never used 3DS Max and i've been using Blender 3D since a very very long time before i purchased Iclone six months back. Blender 3D is versatile and freeware for 3D Modeling, Rigging and Animation Production, it supports most of the 3D formats in Industry. Unfortunately It doesn't have the ease of using Motion capture (.bvh files) to its rigs and also it does not have Iclone Export Plugin like reallusion is marketing for 3DS Max character, accessories, props, scenes, etc export to iclone. 3DS Max is a very expensive program to be used by majoriy of CCD members like me. If there is a Blender 3D Plugin, I consider the floodgates for more animal or other quality content packs from CCD members can make iclone the most desired product in the market in the long run. Also, I would like to bring to your notice that i want to use an elephant character in my project. Can i use the character with animation exported in FBX from blender 3D or DAZ 3D into max and export it for iclone ? will the Elephant character work in my iclone 3.0 Standard Edition ?

Developers - Say Hello

Hi,

The CCD program has been running for quite some time now and the Content Store is really beginning to grow as more and more developers are realizing the potential of the CCD.

There may be many out there who have never posted here before or even those that have, why not say hello and tell us your opinions of the CCD so far and anything you'd like to see improved. Also why not tell us a little about what you are working on. You don't have to give away any secrets, just a little about the type of content you are developing.

Your thoughts and opinions are important to Reallusion so why not share them with us here.

Thanks

Pete

A G2 Max template Question:

Gosh I hate being the new guy...whewwAnyways, Im not real sure on what has to be done to apply for this and I didn't want to dirty up the pinned topic so I'll just ask here.I've heard by others you have to submit a G2 clone cloth texture. So I sent mine to the address located on this page: http://developer.reallusion.com/docs_ic.aspx#MoreOn that page it is pretty vague, but says to submit it to developer@reallusion.com. So I did this tonight. The instructions were so vague, I not only sent a texture and opacity maps for the G2 Jack Overcoat and Athletic shoes, but some accessories that the outfit needed to be complete as the below link:I was only told an outfit....meaning one, or so I thought. The pages that are new on the site:http://developer.reallusion.com/submit_g2g3.aspx seems to be down, or I'm getting some asp error from it.This is the readme that's sent in the zip to developer@reallusion.com. Will this be enough? Do they plan on selling this, or just making sure you're actually a dev, cause I left my psd I sent real sloppy so they could see the over spray on each layer?
- Developer Submission- Includes: *Read Me.txt *Display.jpg *Accessories *IClone Wars *Ailettes_Left.iAcc *Ailettes_Right.iAcc *Breast_Plate.iAcc *Capsules.iAcc *Gauntlet_Left.iAcc *Gauntlet_Right.iAcc *Greave_Left.iAcc *Greave_Right.iAcc *Pouch_Left.iAcc *Pouch_Right.iAcc *Jack Clone Overcoat Files *Upper_Mtl0_Diffuse_jedi.psd *Upper_Mtl0_Diffuse_jedi2.jpg *Upper_Mtl0_Diffuse_Opacity2.jpg *Jack_Athletic Files *Shoes_Mtl0_Diffuse-jedi_flat2.jpg *Shoes_Mtl0_Diffuse-jedi_flat-Opacity *Props *IClone Wars *Ailettes_Left.VNS *Ailettes_Right.VNS *Breast_Plate.VNS *Caps.VNS *Gauntlet_Left.VNS *Gauntlet_Right.VNS *Greave_Left.VNS *Greave_Right.VNS *Pouch.VNS *Skin Diffuse *lower.jpg *upper.jpg- Construction IClone3: Start with Jack Nude base and apply Jack Clone Overcoat. With the Overcoat applied, you can now switch to the skin tab and apply the upper.jpg to the 'Upper' and 'Hands' dropdown, and the lower.jpg to the 'Lower' dropdown menu. In the 'Opacity slot, and load the Upper_Mtl0_Diffuse_Opacity2.jpg, and we're now ready to apply all of the accessories.Under the Custom tab, in the IClone Wars folder apply the Ailettes Left, Ailettes Right, Breast Plate, Capsules, Gauntlet Left, Gauntlet Right, Pouch Left, and Pouch Right. To better emulate the caricature slimness of the movie models, apply the 'Slim' modifier from the 'Body Style' header under the 'Avatar' tab. Go to the Material edit menu at the right side.Make a white opacity map with photoshop having a BIG black dot in the middle. Load the map into the opacity box. Look at the hole, passing through the character !!!!!!You can make "perforated" characters this way! But the interesting thing is: There is no actual character skin under the clothing!!!!this means the clothing is PART of the skin itself.... Hummmmm......Please moderators. Pass this to RI: Why not releasing some hints for G3 clothing? We could easily increase interest and popularity for Iclone 3 characters. Any way, eventually we are going to discover how to make it. Indeed it is a challenge!!!!!Try the perf, character. Is funny!. You can use this to punch holes into victims in that thriller you are making!!!!!:P:P

Arab woman

I buy an arab woman character from 3dstudio.com. but it's so dificult to convert to .vns. or would you plz making the arab woman character like this in iclone, surely I'll buy it. many thx......yo

Kanes hands

I am working on a new texture for G3 Kane,

I don't seem to have access to the textures for the gloves, they are in the "Hands" of the mesh.

Is there a way for the hand textures to be made available?

possibly via the drop-down texture menu of the Upper texture tab?

VNS exporter for Poser?

I know you can import character models you've made elsewhere into Poser and rig them. Reallusion said that members send a lot of submissions... but I still see the same content. Are all submisions refused because any of them are mostly bad ? Mmmh, really curious... or Reallusion Team is very exacting. For all that, I'm happy, my one has been certified. I'm waiting, you never know (and sorry for my bad english:)).
Props

Hi

Is there anyone out there that can tell me if I can change the color on a 3d block in props?

I am using it to hide the body of an avatar so just the head shows.

Thanks

Anyone else experiencing problems

accessing the submitt page? It’s suppose to make the process faster.
There is one fatal flaw. It’s not faster at all.
If the submission process requires their staff to personally check each build and then hand create marketing for it, then having a streamlined submission process is pointless.

This entire process should only take a week at best. I mean, how hard is it to check the size and quality of a build? And how complicated is it to quickly send out an email to the builder and have them make the needed corrections, then get the build into the content store?

I waited several weeks to hear back from them before finally sending an angry email. Then they respond by telling me changes need to be made. Why couldn’t they just get back to me on their own within a few days?

Funny thing is that I keep checking the content store and I don’t see any new content. At least not enough to justify how long it is taking them to get my content into the store.

They need to automate the entire process. Let us create the builds, and all marketing graphics. All they should be doing is checking the size & quality, and letting us know (within 24 hours) of any modifications needed. Once made, our builds should be kept at the top of the publishing list and published ASAP. This is the simple solution.

Is anyone else having this same problem?
CrazyTalk SDK Implementation in SecondLife

I think the subject line explains the topic concisely...
