The ability to import videos is a feature that will help iClone users tremendously. However, the default folder of the videos being in the Shared folder in C drive, it is going to affect computer performance of people who try to use this feature to good effect.

I store all my videos in external hard drive. I also have most programs except the essential ones installed in my external hard drive including all graphics, video, gaming , and 3d software.

This essentially keeps my C drive from being jammed and my pc functioning. Anybody who handles computers knows this. Videos usually have big files, and as I tested out Iclone 4, its abilities to take big video clips is good enough. Given the powers of IClone4, it would help if the videos folder could be in an external runtime, rather than being by default in drive C.

Would like Reallusion feedback and help on this issue, if forum friends cannot show the way.

Regards

Surajit

question about morphed characters

RL team - got a question about morphed characters - right now only textures are allowed to be sold but with iClone 3.2 a lot of capability is in the software to create custom body shapes to help enhance the characters - does RL have a policy in place to address that being able to sell morphed body shapes?

Iclone4 Head Import

I have followed the whitepaper on creating a headmorph, (using zbrush), to the letter. However, when i export the headmorph file it is exported as a vns file and not an iface file and thus iclone cannot pick it up in the custom file when clicking on import. I tried placing the file directly in the custom folder and it shows up once iclone is run but when i drag the file onto a G3 avatar, iclone then CTD's. (crashes).

I though initially that i had maybe 'over-morphed' the head so i used the original template unchanged and duplicated the procedure which had the same effect.

Has anyone yet headmorphed into iclone 4?

iMaterials for Clone Cloth Created in Iclone 4

Question - If we create content packs in Iclone 4 and save the iMaterials in Iclone 4....will these be compatible with Iclone 3?

Added a new blog at www.clonerscafe.com/blog, please drop in and feedback

Hi friends,

Just added a new blog section to www.clonerscafe.com, my video site. With a little patience and proper face structure, the results can be extremely surprising for their quality.

The jpg below is three faces built strictly in iclone and placed on stock Trey. No post production touch-ups after render and no pre-production touchups to the original photo used to create the face. So, while not perfect, you can get some very high quality results to your character faces. All of the jpgs used for these 3 faces were only 72dpi so crazy resolution is not required. The larger the image, the easier it is to get cleaner detail. But all in all, the facial system can be a fantastic tool and I encourage anyone that hasn't mucked about with it to do so.

rigging

I would like to buy a set of character models from 3Drt "http://www.3drt.com/3dm/characters/bunnies/bunnies-3d-characters-cartoony-collection-06.jpg" to use in Iclone, I think they come fully rigged could i export them from 3d studio 7 using th pluggin from RL straight into Iclone or would i have to rig them using the Iclone template if so does eny one offer a rigging servive and if so how much..

Thank you..

Just Me CCD

Hello. I am a DAZ Published Artist (Granted small time to date, but still.) and I do work on Textures and shaders for several products that don't have my name on it as well as those that do.

One of the key and best professional ways to get great textures is to use a 3D Paint Program. Personally I have Z-Brush (Also super for creating Normal Maps) Blacksmith 3D, Carrara 7 and I am looking at purchasing Cinema 4D/Bodypaint. If you have UV Mapper Pro and Photoshop, Gimp, Corel Photopaint or most other 2D paint programs you can use UV mapper Pro as a 3D display for texturing. ($60 solution.)

I don't see an export function in iClone 3.2 or 3DXchange anywhere. I know we can go from .obj to iClone 3.2 using 3DXchange, is there a way to go the other way so I can use some of these tools I have to create content for iClone?

If not where do I post a feature request to do just that?

Further my modelers of choice are Lightwave, Hex, and Carrara (in that order) I don't even own 3DS Max and I am unlikely to make enough profit to justify buying it anytime soon. Any chance we can get a Collada import so rigged objects can be brought in without Max? (And where do I post that feature request?)

Stig helmet for 2.5

Hi, I have iClone 2.5 and would like someone to develop a white motorbike helmet to purchase (must accept diners card). Easy!

-Jump into MAX 2008 or beyond. Load the Female07 MAX template.

-Select the upper part, go to edit and hit Clone, selecting "as object".

-In the modifier stack go down, just below the skin modifier. You will get a prompt to "hold"; do it!

- From the modifier drop down select Push modifier.

- At the push dialog dial type 2.0 and enter.

- Go all the way to the modifier top, to exit.

- Apply some textures to your new mesh, to make it look different from the actual skin.

You got your first Super Tight, poke resistant, "mathematical Upper"!

Do the same, same, with your Lower!

Bingo! You just have created the newest "first tight mesh in the world"

Export it, and do the tests. Hey! THis one does not poke also! Wow!!!!!:w00t:

If you still want to go "mathematically" safer: Select each Skin "Lower, upper, hands and shoes parts" (the under layer), go to modifier menu on each, just above the "skin modifier" and apply a push modifier. This time set the dial to -2.0! (shrink it a little bit!)

Not even Sulphuric Acid can punch this one!!!!

Ain't this world so simple and we want it to be "mathematically complex" ?

NOTE: Per multiple requests, who wants to see the "custom mesh" in action please visit:

http://medialab.galileo.edu/apparition/Heroine.wmv
Tutorial on Creation

Is there a tutorial on how to create my own material and or clothing?

Is it even possible inside of iclone3?

Thanks for the Search Function

I just noticed today that there is a search function in the store, with a drop down list of categories as well.
