Is there a way that I can do that? Also I tried to start Crazy Talk and the program says that I need to purchase Crazy Talk 4.2. I have already purchased Crazy Talk 5 but it does not seem to notice? To accomplish this four legged liveprop, I used these two products together: DAZ Buck and Antelope Pack expansion2)Now load/build a scene with your model in DAZ|Studio. Don’t forget to apply animated poses to your figure. Fore more information about this, visit DAZ tutorials section3)At this step, you need FBX-Plugin for DAZ|StudioFBX has quickly become the leading 3D File Interchange Format. It provides a powerful new way of working with 3D content from a wide variety of applications and source material providers. Exporting in the FBX format provides you access to an industry-wide 3D format, and allows you to use your DAZ content in products such as Maya or 3D Studio Max.Then click File -- Export and choose FBX 6.0 as export format. Choose a directory and file name for export and click save. In the following menu with the FBX-Export-Options choose the following options:Click Accept and save your FBX-File.4) Import your FBX-File in 3dsMaxStart 3dsMax, Click File - Import and import your exported FBX-File.In 3dsMax you will find all imported textures in the Material editor. You can edit them in Photoshop or any image editor. Your models is correctly rigged with all bones and ready for motion5) Choose File>Export... to export your liveprop for iClone. In the File Type option, choose iCloneExp (*.VNS) file format and assign the designate folder. I have tried rotating the model at 90deg and leaving the camera alone but that doesn't seem to solve the problem. I also tried turning in small increments with equal lack of success.

I'm sure there's an easy answer as the stuff I've seen by iClone is magnificent. I have the Wilderness Packs, btu would liek some of my action to take place at night. further to some of my previous questions, I have now got a firey glow and twi-light shadowing inthe main part of my scene. (Thanks for all answers that helped with this) but unfortunately, there is still a lovely mid-morning blue summer sky in the background! Any way that the sky can be darkened? The only solution I can thnk of is to be clever with a 2D pic placed on the billoard, and positionsed between the liveplants and the skyin shot. Haven't had the time to try this out yet, but before I do, wondered if anybody had an easier or more practical solution.

Secondly - and hopefully this is more simple. Is there any way to for SFX to start in full flow? For example, the snow FX starts falling, but if I want my scene to take place where it is already snowing, because this causes an editing gaff (as was seen in the "All I Want For Christmas" which I put up in December.) I am currently using the HellFire although sized down to give a smaller campfire type of flame, but again, I want theis to be a fire already burning, not one that builds up from nothing over the first few frames.

All responses will be greatly received. It's more than a bug, it's the Insect That Ate Cleveland.
I can't believe that this "feature" was allowed to get by in 1.0, let alone 2.0. Work out (in your head or on paper) exactly what you want each character to do and say.

2. Set up your first character.

3. Once the first is exactly as needed, press and hold the Ctrl and F7 keys at the same time. Your new character will appear in the scene's center.

4. While still in the Character view press the Modify tab on the right. Now use the "Character Position" controls to move your second character into position.

That's it!

NOTE: In iClone2 you can edit each character individually by double clicking on it and then making your changes.

Hope this was helpful.

Zecharaih

Need a home exterior and interior

I would like to purchase a project file of a house both the exterior and the interior. Go to SCENE – PROPS – TEMPLATE – PROPS folder and choose from two surf boards, either one will do. You can fashion your avatar and prop with metal diffuse and reflection maps if you like, however, any
default character and default surf board prop will do for the purpose of learning the Link To
function.

Step 2.)

Position your prop in scene where you wish the interaction to take place with your character. Go to the MODIFY tab and use the MOVE and ROTATE tools found in the ADJUST portion of the menu to place the surf board under your avatars feet.

Step 3.)

Now apply a motion to your avatar, to do this go to ANIMATION – MOTION – TEMPLATE –
MOTION folder and select the IDLE02 motion. This is so the character will not be static and
have its own animation applied before you attach it to the prop in scene.

Step 4.)

Animate the surf board moving in scene, move to the end of your project before animating so that the key frame you will automatically create will be at the end of your scene. Go to SCENE – PROPS – MODIFY tab and then use the MOVE tools in the ADJUST portion of the menu to move and position the prop. Use the PLAY / PAUSE button to review and notice that the avatar is going to stay in a static position without linking the character to the surf board.

Step 5.)

Select the character and go to AVATAR – CHARACTER – MODIFY and locate the LINK TO
feature. Use the down arrow icon to open the LINK TO selection menu. Choose the SURF
BOARD and then click on the LINK NODE icon to activate the LINK TO SUB-NODE menu, this
is where you will be able to select individual nodes for each asset in scene, the SURF BOARDS set of nodes will be displayed after the prop is selected. Use the PLUS ARROWS to locate and select the BOARD node. Be sure you have ALIGN TO PARENT POSITION checkbox checked
ON and then click on OK to apply.

Step 6.)

Now use the PLAY / PAUSE button once again to review the linked animation. Notice that the avatar now follows the animated prop while retaining the motion animation applied to the
character. Even if you decide to place additional key frames in the middle of the prop animation the character will follow that path. You have now successfully linked a character to a prop.

Lighting

I am after the sort of grey not quite light, not quite dark that you get just after sunset. Some of the motions in the motion editor have a direction element to them. Is there any way that the following motion an start from the same direction. e.g. I am udsing the look around motion from one of the mega motion packs, which includes the character doing a 180 turn, but any other motion returns to the defaulkt positionmaking the character swing back to face the opposite way. Can this be overcome? And how?

2. Occassionally, some part of my character or scene flashes after export - usually somethin like the hair or the shoes. Looking at it there are some scenes where they appear to lose the texture and just become black for one frame. Is this something to do with the Compression? If so, which is the best compression to use? I have previously used MJPEG, but founsd that with bigger scenes, DV seems better. What would you advise?

3. I am back on my own machine, so have 1.5GB RAM and 2.6GHz processor, but still get crashes after some saves or exports, usually if I have another progamme running. Are there any known clashes with I-Clone and Movie Maker - or do I just have too much on the go? I am assuming these are both pretty big programes.

Hope you can help.

Thanks in advance

Richard.

Customize your avatar eyes in iClone

Customize your avatar eyes in iClone

I haven't checked if this tip had been already done in forum or tutorials

1) Step1: Launch iClone and then go to CHARACTER - TEMPLATE - 0_MAN

2) Step2: Click the Scene button. Looking through a hole in the set wall at a duplicate character and duplicate room with duplicate everything.
Looked OK, but sucked your life away in hours of prep.

(Thi Mai v.E.)

This time I sat and worked on making a near accurate version using layers. It uses a rather dirty motion file for the sake of extreme gesture .... for the sake of the example but it clearly demonstrates the ease of use and in the final movie this effect appears in puddles, lakes, rain strewn windows and, yes, even distorted chrome bars across a window.
For those you simple add the layers and squash them forcing nuetral grey as their C-key which gives, at about 98% transparency, about a 30% transparency element to all spectral values.
