Hi!
I have a big, big problem with the cheeks and jaws of a self-made character and hope to get some advice from experienced users. At first I thougt it was my fault, that I created the face not good enough although at first sight the faces look nice. But when turning it in 3D-mode something strange happens with the cheeks - they arch (I hope this is the right English word for it). I attach pictures to let you see what I mean. Any idea what's wrong?

| Hi Eliza, Could you explain the process you used in creating the custom head. It may well be that the head became corrupted in some way. I have read of your computer problems in other posts with iClone crashing so this may have been the cause. Have you created any other heads. How are they?

Hi Peter,
Thank you for your quick answer.
I made several heads with the Jack base model using a picture (always the same, with only cosmetic modifications made in Photoshop Elements 5). I made it on different days, and they all looked fine first, and I thought "wow, that's it!". Some days ago the trouble started: I used my mal character in a 3D scene, turned the character for different shots - and the big cheek (and also a big jaw) occured. I zapped through all the heads I made today but it is the same problem with each of them.
I did female heads, too, they all work fine - the last I did was today.
Today I had no crashes and did a male and a female head - the female works fine, the male head not, although it looked good when I finished it.
So I guess there may be a connection with the Jack base model.
I can upload some more examples - good and bad ones - if you like. One of my first (and still fine working) characters you can see in my new avatar.

Here some more pictures - same head, same scene, different lighting which brings "to light" the problematic parts.
I will do another male head now with another picture.
Maybe I use my first picture together with the Caucasian base model to see if the problem is still occuring.

| Hi Eliza, From looking at your second batch of example images it just looks like you may need to work a little more on the feature point fittings and especially the blend lines on the side image. Even if you don't have a side image it is best to switch to it to make some minor adjustments and correctly position the blend lines. Incorrect placement of feature points and face outline can give large cheeks or a disformed head. Have you been through the section Getting Started - Creating a Virtual 3D Head in the Help Guide. (press F1 in iClone). This takes you step by step through correct facial feature point fitting. This should help you greatly.

Hi Peter,
I went through the first steps in creating 3D heads and read another tutorial here in the forum twice (the one where you make a symmetrial face in Photoshop) - the last time yesterday - and made four heads by this method today - three work fine, but not this special one. And I was very, very careful with all the parts, spent more time on it than for all the other heads. At first it seemed to be my bet head ever - but wen I used it in a scene, turned it to get a shot from the left or right it was the same trouble again.
And I have the impression that it gets worse with the older versions of this special head from day to day. In one scene I had first trouble only with the cheeks - and today even with the jaw. And I remember now that the trouble with this special head startet when I recognized that the nose as not straight any more (before it was, I swear).
I don't know why this pictures makes so much trouble. All the other heads I did work fine with less effort.
I'll give it a last try tomorrow.
