The details of faces and necks it seems I'm finally getting a handle on,
now onto clothing.

If you take a look at the two attached images, you will see that the original blouse has its vertical wrinkles. However, when that image is imported onto my iClone character, those wrinkles get stretched out so they are much less sharp and distinct and rather look like dark or light areas than wrinkles. The texture appears to be stretched.

Is there a way to keep the wrinkles (or modify the original) so that the wrinkles and details
of the shirt are not stretched, distorted or flattened in their appearance on the character, and the folds and wrinkles do not get that flattened out look as the texture is applied to the character?

Michael

In your photo program, can you increase the difference between the highlights and the shadows? Not sure if that would help or not.

Yes, thank you, and I've done that. It's not so much that as it is the stretching of the texture.

In the attached file you can see a side by side comparison of how iClone stretches the texture making not only the folds larger and less refined, but also the stripes in the upper part of the blouse.

I use photoshop and am using the warp tool to manipulate the placement but then iClone distorts it even more.

Your jpeg is too small but there is a way round it.

Instead of stretching the jpeg to fit the iclone template, place your jpeg in the centre of the female template, then copy a half of the jpeg and paste it into the layer below the original and to the one side i.e. left......with a bit of jiggling, you can get the pattern (stripes) to match up.....and just cut away the parts of the pattern not required. Copy the other side of the original and paste it on the layer below the original on the opposite side and again match up the stripes. You may at this point have to use the warp tool but it won't need as much stretching and any little flaws won't be as visible at the side of the character.

Hope this helps.....and I hope it makes sense
