In the Preference Settings, the following dialog box is displayed:

in the CT4 help, it is written:
Lipsync Component: This function allows you to assign other Lipsync solutions by installing 3rd party lipsync plug-in.

Question: What are these other Lipsync solutions or third party lipsync plug-in?
I used to use DAZ|Mimic Lip-Sync for animation, is it possible to include this application in Crazy Talk ?

Hi David,

I think that the facility is there to add a 3rd party plugin created for Crazytalk. To the best of my knowledge there aren't currently any other plugins available.

I will endeavor to find out a little more about this unused feature and post anything I find out for you.

Hi David,

Just a quick update. I found out a little more about the Lipsync Component from the Crazytalk PM. (Thanks Edward)

Originally Crazytalk used a 3rd party lipsync component but in around 2003 Reallusion began using their own RL lipsync technology. The facility to add further lipsync plugins was made available and the possibility of letting the user purchase and add further lipsync components from other companies such as AutomaticSync was looked at.

In the end the decision was made that the RL system was good enough to stand on its own and so no further development was done on using 3rd party components. The option is still there for plugins to be added at some point but right now there are no other CT plugins available.

I hope this explains the situation a little bit more for you.

I believe the company was called Lipsinc. They no longer operate as far as we know.
