Modify for Your Own Particle F/X Category: iClone_Hints & Tips_SFX
Version: iClone 1.52 Date: 2006.11.22 Q: Wanna know how Particle F/X could be modified? Though iClone supports five texture channels (diffuse, opacity, bump, glow, reflection), only diffuse and opacity maps take effect on particles. Diffuse maps define the texture and primary color of the particles, and opacity maps define how transparent and the cut-out shapes of the particles.
Modify the "particle map" by "diffuse" and "opacity", and then you will see the terrific result as below.

Resize Particle Helper to Hide it Category: iClone_Hints & Tips_SFX Version: iClone 2.0 Date: 2007.04.20 The particle helpers are showing up in my final render, it kind of spoils the effect. How do I make them vanish?
You can hide particle helper (as a prop) by modifying the opacity map to turn it black.
Scene > Prop > Modify > Generate UV and Map setting > Opacity > Diffuse (Image Editor) > make the map black
Then, you will see no helper in output or preview window.
