| I have been using Crazy Talk 5 since it came out, and have enjoyed exploring all of the possibilities. It's a great program, but . . .
Is there any way to edit the voice track, without starting over?
I made a rather elaborate tribute to my parents recently deceased dog, almost 5 minutes. I spent days doing it and I would like to share it with the world. But, as it is rather long, and contains personal and probably boring content, so I want cut it down for the public. I can cut and paste the voice track (wav file) from within the original CT script. But I want to add a line that isn't there.
I tried to create a separate script, copy it, and reload the original and paste it, but that doesn't work. I have tried a couple of clipboard managers, and that doesn't work. Saving a Motion Clip doesn't save the voice track.
Please let me know if there is a work around. If not, I would think this would be a useful feature that shouldn't be too hard to implement.
Thanks in advance for any input.
Brad

| | Hi Brad If I am right in what you trying to do I would try this. Use Audacity ( free download) to edit your original wav. file and then record another track in audacity and export Multiple tracks to make a new wav. file. You would only have to record on the second track where you need your new audio to go in. Once you have did this use the motion file along with your new audio and this should work. Hope this is what you were trying to do. If not sorry!! I am just a mixed up old Popeye!!!

| Thanks Popeye, in hindsight that would be the right way to do it. But I painstakingly edited the wav file and the motion clip within Crazy Talk. All I really want to do is change one word. If I could export the wav file out of CT that would be the solution.
I've spent waaaay too much time on this project as it is. I pieced together some sounds within CT to get by (who'll notice).
Thanks for your input.

| What Popeye told you will still work, just use Audacity to record the CrazyTalk Script while the project plays the Voice Track inside CrazyTalk...then re-import it back into CrazyTalk and you'll have it. Set your recording device in Audacity to Sound Board or Mixer based on your system settings and naming conventions.

| Brilliant! After messing with the sound settings in Windoze and Audacity, I got Audacity to record straight from Crazy Talk. That's one fine free program that Audacity; been using it for years, but only recently seeing it's total versatility. And Crazy Talk has a whole lot bang for the bucks paid for it!
I didn't use this technique for this project, as I declared it finished earlier today. I would have needed to take out the background music to record it properly; and as I said before, I have spent waaay too much time on it already. If you are interested, check it out:

Choose the short version, but stay until the end. If you are a dog lover, take some tissue.
Thanks Popeye and Cricky. I made it through another day learning something new!

| | Glad you got sorted as this is a very nice tribute to your parents and their recently deceased dog. Bet that brought tears to their eyes. Your script was amazing no wonder you worked at it. Regards Popeye

| Well I certainly did need some tissue. I lost one of my boys last April and still miss him terribly. We do have a new little girl and love her to bits.
You certainly did do a nice job on the voice.
