Is there a way to set the sky tool night color to black? Or darker than the blue it is?

You can drill down to the sky in the Scene Manager then use your color picker to select the Sky Blend material. Just change the color selectors in material settings (diffuse and ambient)from white to a darker color for a quick fix without editing.
