Hi Bray / the newer versions of sketchup models are incompatible with 3DX5 - to work around this you have to first open your model in sketchup and resave it to version 7. Then try importing that. I think tremble is trying to figure out how to make money with sketchup, so I'm thinking they are making things incompatible so people have to come back - download the latest version of sketchup and sign their new eula. cheers

Thanks but that is not the problem. Any model can only be downloaded to my computer and then imported into 3dxchange. weird. Normally it will automatically open into 3dxchange.
I changed computers and now use win 7 HP.....instead of win 8 pro on my old laptop.
I am able to download to my com, close google warehouse, then import into 3dxchange and that works. I am Just not sure what is up with it doing this....or why.

Hi
Any model acts this way. I just now installed sketchup 2014 (On my new com), seems win 7 did not relate to skp files.
It is still doing the same thing though. No models will open in 3dxchange from the GW. Now all skp files open in sketchup 2014 only. Can someone try to download a model into 3dx, if they have any free time and see if it is just me or a GW problem?
I have to save the models/then import to 3dX. Not a real bad problem but really weird.
Thank you for your time and help!

I just downloaded a Sketchup 7 model from GW, and it imported without problems into 3DXchange.

oh wait, I think I know what he's saying, since the new changes to the GW website - we can't download directly to 3DX5. Yeah, unfortunately that's the new norm. that's a google thing - they broke the direct link.
