I think I'm missing something totally obvious, but how do you create the kind of reflective objects (spheres) that are shown in a lot of the ic7 demos?

They are not mirror-objects actually. I think it uses reflection texture on this sample. am i right?

This actually uses the new IBL interaction with PBR materials in 7. For this particular example you would bake the IBL with a center point at that sphere, and that particular IBL would be what would be used (note the Sphere and/or objects can't move and have the reflections updated since it's only a still image -- while you can put other IBLs on the timeline doing so to try and achieve "animation" is a painful process).

answer: turn on GI and they will reflect {visual tab/Global illumination}
.
