Is there any point in me purchase items wit export licence if I only use Daz 3d & vue - I cannot seem to export animations into daz or any of the ICone figures so wondering if any point paying more. I don't use game engines such as unreal.

As far as I know there is no way to import iClone/CC characters into DAZ - there are a bunch of posts on the topic spread all over the Forum, so you would have to do a search for them. You may be able to get motions out, but if so you would need at least 3DXchange Pipeline, and most likely an export license for purchased content.

That's what I was thinking and in some cases the export version works out nearly double the price.

I would however be interest in know how you export the motions into Daz - I already have 3dxchange 6 pipline are there're any good tutorials around?

So I've being looking on the site an came across the following statement on iclone vers export license;

To export iContent and use them in other 3D software (e.g. Maya, Max, DAZ), or 3D game engines (e.g. Unity, Unreal), you will need to purchase the export license version of the iContent. Export license is an upgrade of iContent License which allows you to convert iContent into FBX, OBJ or BVH formats through the use of 3DXchange Pipeline.

I was looking to purchase the new Assasisins play set an thought it would be cool if I could export via 3dxchange pipline to Daz - but obviously don't want to waste $60 if it's not going to work. Therefore relly need to know for sure this will work - any advice would be greatly appriciated.

I believe FBX import into DAZ is kind of dicey, although perhaps it has improved with the latest DAZ release.

If I'm not mistaken you can export base content as FBX (provided you have Pipeline) so you could try that first. Also, as yet 3DXchange does not support PBR so you would loose something when exporting.

EDIT: The issues with importing FBX into DAZ was confirmed here https://forum.reallusion.com/FindPost320221.aspx, where you asked the same question. Please try to ask a particular question in only on place, because otherwise there is duplication of effort on the part of the responders.
