If you own Adobe Animate, I would recommend creating (2) Static Sprites and (1) Animated Sprite. It's easier to import the animation into CTA3 and the use the timeline to control the speed of the animation. There are a few tutorials on YouTube that teaches you how to get the effect. You can study the concept and then incorporate your own artwork to achieve your goal. Here is a link to a video I found that covers the basic concept on the animation process https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHzQI8FAdcYThis video shows the door opening, but there is a option in Flash that allows you to reverse the animation. a semi easy workaround is to draw your door as a png file or whatever. take any g2 character and replace either the upper left arm or right arm with the door sprite. Then select turn character into multiangle character...this will replace all the sprites with the same sprites from the front angles. Now you have a 3d character whose arm is a door. hide all the unwanted body parts leaving behind just the door sprite. use the 3d editor to manipulate the door so that it swings open and closed ... a bit hacky but it should work

Hello Ibis, Your solution sounds easy but I wasnt able to make it working. (see pictures is it correct) I made door.png from front angle (closed) and replaced G2 Sauls 01_L_Arm with it.
This would be interesting style to animate

Make the door prop. Enter composer mode. Move the image so that the origin is where the hinge should be. Go back to the stage. Use prop key editor. Deform the prop in "door open" frame - move the handle side control points almost all the way to the hinge and slightly higher (for the top control point) and lower (for the bottom one) if the door opens towards the camera, or lower the top and pull up the bottom if the door opens away from camera. In "door closed again" frame reset the deformations.
It works OK, but the door is rather flat. You can experiment adding a handle and the internal thickness of the door as separate parts of the prop and then deform them accordingly. You can probably achieve the same result using move and scale transformations instead of deformations.

Just put the center of the edge of the door where the hinges are at the pivot point and align door sprite accordingly so it aligns itself in the direction of the arm. Takes a small bit of tweaking but it does the job. It works even better if you make a second front for the front angle so that the door swigs that that one front replacement angle happens it doesn't look too off.
