Hi. I am a new user to CTA and I am attempting to bring in a character from the flash template. every time I bring in the character its a trainwreck. When I import it there are tons and tons of elements all over the place. and its different for every angle. Im not sure if this is an issue in Animate CC (flash pro) or if its with CTA. Please Help!

Looks like you are trying to import just a single angle. Is that the case?

No. We set up the template for all angles except top and bottom. It would be ideal to have all the angles imported.

You need to add the top and bottom angles or it will not import correctly. You can quickly test it out by simply copy the G2 Templates version of the Top and Bottom to you files and importing it into CTA. But ultimately you will need to do a Top and Bottom for a G2 Character.

The top and bottom angles are in the template. we just didn't do any modifications to them in the template. so they are importing with it.
I get no errors as far as the sprites and pivots go on the import. but yet I end up with this. Is there something that can happen in Animate that would cause this to import like this?

I make a lot of G2 Characters. Normally if I see something like this, it's due to a sprite being copied into another angle, but symbol was not renamed to match the new angle. If you want, you can send file to askjanell@toonsunlimited.com and I can take a look at it. Janell
