Release Notes:

For this round of updates most of the big new features come in iClone 6.5 and Character Creator 1.5. However 3DXchange 6.5 still features a number of improvements and enhancements. Please check them out below.

v6.5.1904.1 update patch released on 2016-07-14

  • Added: Alembic bake export for character, accessory, and prop geometry animation for rendering inside 3rd party 3D software (suppports soft-cloth simulation). Know More
  • Added: 'Embed Textures' option inside the FBX exporter for the option to include and isolate the texture maps into a separate fbm folder, or simply embed the texture into the FBX file.
  • Added: 'Split Mesh by Material' inside the OBJ exporter for Hitfilm Alembic format.
  • Added: 'Merge Opacity to Diffuse Texture' inside the OBJ exporter for Hitfilm Alembic format.
  • Added: Auto-convert to non-standard talking character for Daz Genesis 3. 
  • Enhanced: FBX texture file names now consist of material and channel information.
  • Fixed: 3DX crashes when removing sub-props on nodes that have been made into sup-props twice.
  • Fixed: 3DX crashes while exporting certain content to FBX with a Unity preset. (eg. A220B_Casual 01.iAcc)
  • Fixed: 3DX crashes when Exporting BVH format with certain characters.
  • Fixed: Specular textures do not export with the .mtl file after exporting an OBJ.
  • Fixed: CC FBX characters do not export with a root node. Feedback Tracker Report
  • Fixed: A loaded CC character is incorrectly displayed under Modify > Node > Type as 'G6 Standard Character'

    Sorry, I don't really find a place to post my question, so I am trying here. I want to buy 3DXchange, but I have no idea if I should go for the PRO or Pipeline Version. I've read about the Export Option in Pipeline but, will I ever use it? My Intention is to Import DAZ characters to iClone. since I am not using any other Software beside of DAZ and iClone, would it make sense to have the Export Funktion? I think not, but I would like to hear how People that have already used the Pipeline Version would decide. Thank you!

    To ONLY import anything from outside of Iclone you need 3dxchange pro .
    I've the pro version and sometimes I export in obj format (when there'nt DRM) to edit shape or texture
    in another App.

    Actually I was thinking about maybe Export motions to DAZ but as I read because of the different bone structure it wouldn't work anyways. Correct me please if I am wrong. If that wouldn't work, then it would definitely not make sense for me to spend extra Money for the Pipeline Version. Also I don't want to spend amounts of time in tweaking and correcting bones or motions. It's not worth it for my Projects, to complicated.

    if you mean animated CC or iC Character,  DAZ can not import rigged FBX from another Programm. That is a fault of DAZ .I think ,  DAZ have no interest to fix this,  because they want sell its own stuff

    Hi - I am a newbie - come from Adobe Creative Cloud background
    - which has FUSE  - allowing 'Mixamo' FBX exports - which I have tested used 3D exchange
    - get the error message that 3DExchange only supports FBX version 2011 or earlier??
    - that is five years ago?? - hmm...

    The figure does open however - with bitmaps UV etc - looks good
    - however although I see evidence of IK armatures - but when I open in iClone 6 (demo)
    - there is no way to animate a sections (armatures) of the figure - comes in as a static prop

    UPDATE - Figured out to enable the armatures.... no need to reply

    Is there something I need to do in 3D Exchange - to enable all pivots - arms, hand, fingers
    - they are all listed in the left pane - BUT - no way to specifically target then
    - or for that matter release the entire figure from the standard T- Pose

    Basic getting started tutorials - are there a few
