Hi guys: Smile

Here's my latest work utilizing Iclone as an illustration tool,

The Tygir are a race that I plan to use in my 'Arianna' series of animations. The set was constructed using rock and tree props that came free with iclone. The Tygir characters are 3d foins Sabertooth which, although a beautiful piece, presented some hurdles when manipulating the fingers to get a realistic look. Some of that work had to be done inside my paint program. The tigers are Reallusion and are just a superb creation. More canned movement options would further enhance this already excellent product. Wink The look of the 'king' character was enhanced with some 'gold' overlays to make him stand out. I kind of figured he had been rubbed down with scented oils impregnated with gold dust. (Don't all kings do that??)  w00t I also increased his overall proportions to make him more of an obvious choice as leader. His name, by the way, is Amra-Khan.

Lighting was a simple arrangement with only two directional lights, one a pale 'flesh' tone and the other your standard red. I varied the size of the trees, front to back and added a fog to set the farscape back into the pic. Also I dropped the 'bump' considerably on the rocks which are in the background.
Hope ya like it.

Wow! That's terrific Pete!... It's like a postcard from another world!
Would also make a terrific book cover...

Depends on what the end purpose is supposed to be, obviously, but if it's for an *internal* illustration for a book, I can also recommend:

* a little DOF for the background
* a wee vignette for the foreground
*  and maybe a highlight over the leader...?

That's only very rough and a bit heavy on the light coz I only knocked it up in a few secs in photoshop, but in iClone you couuld get a really cool light, and
I bet you could find very lucrative markets for this story!

Thanks for the nice comments guys. Smile It's always great to have ones work appreciated by other artists.

I'll take your ideas under consideration Bleetz, they are good ones. I played with the depth of field but I couldn't get a result that I thought enhanced the illusion of distance any better than leaving it clear. I need to play with it more. On Mark's suggestion I first messed with it in my last Ari flick during the fight scene. I really liked the results I got with it there so....Wink

I hope I am showing how versatile Iclone can be.

this is sooo smart, you do it intelligently, the way you place the tigers and the warriors to make the "king" stand out from the crowd, the background scene is very nice too XD obviously you have a talent!

That's a pro level illustration, would make a great magazine or book cover. And only 2 lights, I gotta try that pale skin tone color.
